I am going to a wedding this weekend. It is outdoors. Expected to be about 80 degrees. What to wear, what to wear. I am traveling a few hours so want to go casual. Would white slacks and a pretty long-sleeved top be ok, sandals. I am tempted to do capris but proly won't as I think it's too casual. The reception is at a local country club. And then to dress hubby.....mmmm. He has one dark suit that is really sharp but maybe that's too much. Can he just wear the pants and a nice shirt, tie? no tie? Thanks.

Hmmmmmm......well, I think the first thing I would do is to talk with someone else attending the wedding to kind of feel out what others may be wearing to the wedding.

My general feeling is that white pants and a pretty top are perfect, but maybe some pretty flats instead of sandals? I'd take a sports coat or jacket for your dh along too, just in case!

Just a thought.

Well out here in the totally uncivilized west, you could wear just about anything you wanted. Keep in mind this truism: all eyes will be on bride, no one will notice what you are wearing unless it is completely outrageous. I think nice sandals wil be ok, with a nice pedicure.

Outdoor weddings are generally more casual affairs, so full-on formal wear isn't required. White slacks and a pretty top (I'd go sleeveless, since it's going to be warm and it is August, after all...) would be perfect. If you have some flashy sandles (silver? glittery gem accents?) and one single statement piece of jewelry, you will be good to go!

IMO, for your husband, casual slacks (khakis, even) and a bright (baby blue, coral, celery green) button-down shirt would be perfect. Just in case, I would check to see if jackets and ties are required for the country club, but I think for a day wedding and a private event, this would not be the case.

Have fun!!!!!! :)

I agree with everyone's suggestions. I just attended an outdoor wedding 2 weeks ago, and the men all wore dress shirts without ties and the women had everything you could imagine from slacks to sundresses. Have a great time!

Thanks everyone...I think my white slacks and blouse will be fine..just need to settle on some shoes and my granddaughter said I could borrow something from her...yeah. Hubby will proly wear khakis and a shirt, take a tie with but I think it will be really casual too so no suit coat and good point, no one will be looking at us anyway.

The wedding was very nice. I wore my white slacks and pretty blouse and I got a compliment on the blouse too! Very cool. Hubby wore khakis and a lavender shirt and no tie and was just fine. There was a wide variety of attire there! thanks for all the help!
