My dear SG Friends -- please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we get the full force of TS/Hurricane Isaac. We will take a pounding for several long agonizing hours, but given the predictions that it may only get to a Cat 1 or Cat 2 event, at worse, doesn't sound that bad, having gone through Katrina here with basically the same amount of force (I am 40 miles to the WEST of New Orleans), which was a Cat 3/4. I'll keep you all updated as long as we have power and I can use my desktop or laptop, or even my ipad. I love you all! Keep scrappin....

Peezie, I'm right here with you in Covington, LA (a little north of New Orleans). We didn't know where to evacuate to with this unpredictable storm. We decided it was safer to ride it out at home than get on the road and possibly get caught up in it. Everyone, thank you for keeping us in your prayers. Scrap Girls prayers are so powerful.

I grew up on the Texas gulf coast. I know what hurricanes are all about.Almost everyone I knew lost everything in Hurricane Carla in 1961. My family was safe, but it was a scary time. Stay safe, when the officials say it's time to go...then GO!

Good morning all. First of all, Bitzee-- y'all take care in Covington. We're all in this together. The weather is starting to deteriorate rapidly her in the River parishes. At this point it doesn't matter where you are here, you will get hammered. Can't run. Can't hide. It is what it is. Breathe. Continue to pray for all of our safety and no loss of life to anyone. Got the piña coladas ready to go. Isaac... Let's do this! Love you ladies. I'll talk to you all in a few days, hopefully.

Peezie, you are absolutely right. We are all in this together. I hope that you and yours get through this with minimal problems. We lost everything in Hurricane Katrina--total of 24 homes in our family. My husband and I are fortunate to have four elderly parents still with us. Unfortunately, they have serious health problems that make evacuation dangerous. They are so fragile. We almost lost my mother-in-law on the side of the road during Katrina’s evacuation. Being in the middle of nowhere when a loved one is having a cardiac event is such a helpless feeling. This is why we decided to ride out the Category 1 or 2 storms with medical help nearby. In my heart, I feel that we made the right decision. Please continue to keep all of us in your prayers. Hopefully, Isaac will just be an inconvenience.

Hi all. Just checking in. We lost power at 6:00 am this morning. Man. It was a rough night. Not being able to see is awful. Was so glad to see daylight today. Was up all night. No sleeping in this krap. Looks like the eye will be passing right over us before lunch or shortly thereafter. Then, we're back for more after that. Pounding until tomorrow sometimes before it slacks tomorrow. It's a mess here down my subdivision. No structural damage. Just trees, etc. I lost my bottlebrush tree. What are my hummingbirds going to do? Lol. I'll check back in tomorrow if I can. Bitzee--- hope you all are doing well. I see you're getting a pounding as well. This thing is huge. Stay safe. God speed. Love you all.

I'm checking in, too. It's not so bad here. The sounds are unsettling, but daylight makes a big difference. So far we don't know of any structural damage in the subdivision, just tree branches, tons of leaves, and driving rain. We have greenspace behind our house as well as across from our front yard--lots of beautiful trees in St. Tammany Parish. We can enjoy their beauty without having the trees on our property. Unfortunately, the trees cause power outages. My poor hummingbirds keep coming up on the patio looking for their feeders that we had to take down. Peezie, I am familiar with where you live in Vacherie because my daughter lives in your area in Thibodaux. She is working in Texas this week, so we know she is safe. I think you guys are getting more of a beating than we are. This thing just sat over y'all during the night and kept pounding. Isaac needs to pick up some speed and get out of here, though. Hopefully he will leave here without causing any loss of life or too much more physical damage. Take care. I will update later on.

My dad and stepmom live in Baton Rouge. They happen to be on vacation now in Grand Cayman. Probably a good time to be away, but they are a little afraid that they won't be able to get back on Friday. And worried what they might come back too. Hopefully not too much that far north.

Elisha, I hope your family comes home to things just the way they left them in Baton Rouge. I have been seeing spotty coverage on the internet, but haven't seen anything about problems in Baton Rouge. Kathy

Good news Isaac was down graded. But a tropical storm sounds bad enough...
