Having knee surgery tomorrow morning. UGH!! (torn miniscus and torn ACL). NOT looking forward to this!

Yowch!! I had surgery for a torn meniscus in December 2010. Recovery was surprisingly smooth. (I do martial arts and I was back on the mat -- with only about 25% restrictions -- in a month.) Hope it is the same for you!!!!!

Good luck, Deb! Will be thinking of you. Me too - had the meniscus surgery and to be truthful felt better afterwards - once it was fixed!

Praying for all the best for you. I have had one knee replaced and the relief from pain was such a relief. It was well worth it.

Sending healing thoughts your way for a speedy recovery. My friend Marge had that done a few years ago and surprised the doctors in how fast she recovered. And she is in her 80's. She went to therapy twice a day and that is what helped her recover.

Good luck with the surgery and I hope the recovery goes well. I agree with what others have written about keeping up with the PT afterwards - I've had several friends that have had this surgery and that seems to have made all the difference afterwards.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. I'm home and doing pretty well. Not as much pain as I was expecting - - only when I have to bend my knee in my exercises. Everyone tells me how important physical therapy is so I'm going to try to keep up with it.

I'm so happy to hear that your pain isn't too bad, Deb! As tough as physical therapy can be, it is important - I remember thinking that my physical therapist was being too tough on me until I realized how much better my ankle felt because of what he was having me do.
