My son is a Ranger and been deployed a number of times since the mess started over there, but his wife is expecting their 6th baby and she is trying to be brave again. I can just tell from her email that she is holding on, but really could use a prayer boost. He will miss the birth most likely and he has always made it before. She is in Georgia--opposite side of the country from all family. Thank you for praying for his safety and the others with him and her emotions in taking care of herself and tending to the 5 little kids.Attached File  E-Jer\'sFamilyMtRainier copy.jpg (458.73K)

I feel for your family, Dixie. Both for your son being away at such an important time and his wife who will be holding down the fort by herself. They both sound like strong, amazing people and I will be keeping both of them in my thoughts.

Dixie Lee, I feel for you and your daughter in law, and all of the other families in such situations. Our troops are best! I hope things work out well for all involved. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Not sure if it would help, but I've worked over the years with troop support groups, which include family support. Sometimes being in touch with others in the same predicament helps. I know at some of the groups, they assign a military wife to contact you and help out.

bless their hearts! The life of a Ranger is an extra challenging one, and those t-shirts that say "Army Wife - Toughest Job in the Army!" aren't kidding. I hope his unit has a really good Family Readiness Group, and that they stick together during deployments. Please thank him for his Service for us.

I hope you will keep us posted on how they are doing.

May angels of strength, wisdom, and safety watch over the whole family throughout this deployment.

You're all in my thoughts and prayers - I hope his deployment goes by swiftly and safely and that his wife has a good support system of friends/other army wives to help her through it.

I will definitely keep her in my prayers. Taking care of a family while dh is deployed is challenging, but doing it while pregnant...she is my hero.

Sending prayers. I was very blessed to have Bryan there for all 4 of our children's births (which would have been really rough to have gone through any of them without him but especially since we had the last 3 at home). I can't imagine what she must be feeling. He had been TDY a few times, but the first time he deployed was when our youngest was almost 2 mo old. Not long after he left I had to deal with some scary health issues too. Dealing with 4 kids by myself was difficult, I can only guess how overwhelming it would be to deal with 5 & know that soon it will be 6. There is her recovery period to consider too! Keep us posted!

Our son did get back in time for his baby girls birth, Erin. His wife did great and they are both healthy. We are very thankful for this answer. And would you believe baby Erin looks like she is going to have red hair!
