Hi,

I bought the ScrapSimple Word Art Templates: Scrappy Alpha Super Biggie today and want to use the letters in another layout after I scrap them.
My question is, after I scrap each letter which is an individual PSD file how do I use them in a layout? I was thinking I would save them as
a PSD in order to keep the transparency of the background and then move them into my New layout file, but that doesn't work. How would I save
each letter in order to use them in a layout? The only thing I can think of is a JPG, but that would not keep the transparency of the background.
Hope the makes sense, I really need some assistance.

Thanks, Laurie

Hi Laurie, If I understand your question correctly, after you open each file, you would duplicate it and close the original. Then you can complete the letters however you wish with photos, colors, papers, etc., and you would be able to use them on a layout. Does that make sense?

Some people just re-name the file when they first open it so the original is preserved, but I just have a habit of automatically duplicating files when I open them. HTH :)

The png format will preserve the transparency without the layers. The png files are easier to work with when creating layouts, while the psd file will let you go in and change things on the different layers.

My Gallery I scrap with Photoshop CS6, but can help with older versions: PS7, CS2 & CS4. Posted Image
