I grew up in Texas, and moved to VA in 1979. In Texas and VA I studied art (painting in oils, watercolor, acrylic, and even some crafts) mostly in Texas. After moving to VA things changed and I was unable to paint anymore, so I turned to computers in the 1980's. My first computer was a Texas Instruments hooked to a tape recorder! I had been doing genealogy on my family and used computer bulletin boards before the internet came available. Of course my love of photography went along with the genealogy.
Later, I published and edited a genealogical association newsletter, then a state newsletter, using Microsoft Publisher mostly. I found I enjoyed this, especially the art and design work. I had never heard of digital scrapbooking, and except for cards never made any layouts before discovering it a few years ago. For awhile I roamed all of the Scrapbook online sites, just learning, but never posting anything. Finally I became comfortable enough on Scrapgirls to post a layout. I tried several cheaper software programs before I got PSE 6 then finally 9, and then 10. I'm still learning everyday, and I really appreciate everyone at Scrapgirls. I mostly like simple layouts, but am trying to make myself use more embellishments.
I'm happily married, retired now, have three grown children, five grandchildren and enjoy reading, genealogy, photography and scrapbooking.
When I wasn't working, I did a good bit of volunteer work as EMT and Shock Trauma Tech in hospitals and rescue. Since the war began I've volunteered to support the troops.
Edited by me: I need to take typing and spelling again!!

Win 7, IE Explorer, PSE 11
