Fancy You remember Fancy, Pat's sweet little dog. Last week the family had to have Fancy put to sleep. Fancy was so ill, wouldn't eat, bleeding internally, and 14 years old. The family is broken up about it.

I'm sorry. These creatures give us so much love and become such a part of our lives. It's so hard to let go. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Jean.

So sorry to hear about Pat's little dog. It is so hard to say good bye to our faithful friends and unfortunately we have to do it WAY too often because of their life spans. Tell her to keep her in her heart and get another one as soon as she can--preferrably a rescue. Maybe with some prayers, God will send her one like he has for my last three dogs--delivered directly to my house!

So sorry to hear about Pat's dog. It is very hard when we lose one so dear to us. Here is a poem entitled "Rainbow Bridge" that I was sent when I lost my little kitty, Cissy. That will be six years ago this December 21st and it still hurts. This poem always brings tears to my eyes, but it makes me feel better knowing that we will meet again.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thinking about our precious dog Lexi who we said goodbye to over a year ago, this brings tears to my eyes Carol - it's beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

I'm so sorry! It breaks my heart to hear that. I'll keep your family in my prayers. Losing a loved one (and yes, I think pets are just as dear) is hard.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grand-dog. They truly are little angels in fur. May angels of comfort and healing be with you all.
