Hey Everyone... LONG time since I've been around but still pop in and follow emails regularly. Hope you all are doing well.

I'm throwing together a 24"x36" print for Christmas to give to my Wife for the hallway or something like that and came up with this so far.
Could you please comment and suggest ways I could make it better or am I on the right track.

I'm kind of making a photo print more than a scrap page but was wondering if I should do more or less scrap concepts, or in this case maybe less is more.
One thing I would like to incorporate is maybe some page curls and effects like that.

Thoughts Please!

Hi Vince! Nice to see you!!

I think your print is wonderful - great photos and personally, I don't think very much (if anything) should be added to it. Looking at it the way it is, I think I would want to either delete the "Life is Beautiful" word art and perhaps move the "We Do Not Remember Days" word art a little to the right so it overlaps the right corner photo just a little; or delete the "We Do Not Remember Days" and move the "Life is Beautiful" down to the lower right corner, and make it a little smaller. But I'm not sure. I would just want to sit and play with it for a while. Maybe someone else will come along with some other ideas for you. At any rate, it looks like it will be a wonderful gift and I'm sure your wife will love it! ;)

It does look great, I'm sure your wife will love it. Of course, I have some thoughts - perhaps one or two photos significantly larger than the others? And/or, some brushwork under the middle or edges rather than the little borders. I like the way you've slanted two photos (and your puppies are adorable).

Vince, what an awesome gift for your wife! I love your photos! I like the arrangement of them, but I agree with Theresa that you might play around with the word art a little bit. It's great word art but I think your placement of it could be better. I'd love to see this with the page curls once you've done that and I think that once you've added those you'll probably know exactly where the word art should go!

What a good husband you are! Fabulous gift and you've done a great job with this!

Excellent stuff, The word art is my concern as well especially the live life by the moments one.

I really like the life is beautiful with you in it and I 'may' end up only using that one, time to page curl / effects and re-arrange a little. I will update again feel free to add suggestions I will check back often as I'm hoping to send off to the printer this week.

Vince, this is great; I love it. I agree with some earlier suggestions about having one photo larger and more prominent for more punch. You don't have to add embellishments, but a ribbon or some such that "flows" in the background between photos, or some brushes that function as mats to tie it together could make it look more unified. If not, I'd consider enlarging all of the pictures just a little bit if they're high enough resolution.

These are little things. What's important is how wonderful this gift already looks--enjoy!

Ok, did some more editing... I uploaded the first quickly for advice because you all are so good :) I think this looks quite a bit better.

Thinking a couple photos like the 3 bigger ones on a different mat color on the diagnal and still would like a few page curls.

Thoughts on this now?

One last edit and I think I'm done so I don't overdue it unless anyone can help me make it better :)/>
Darn Pen Tool and Paths make my head spin but I think I figured it out.
A Page curn and a few to appear as though there lifting off the page.

Looking forward to comments as always, I have thick skin so blast away lol.

This is wonderful, Vince! The balance with different sized photos & some on the slant really pops & the arrangement of the text (and the great font) looks fantastic. I like the sublet border, too. What a great gift. I think it's time to stop tweaking.

Thanks for all the great reply's and motivation.

I have one more change that I thought of and to complete the whole "Family" theme this originally started out as a daughter montage but I'm going to get an updated photo of my wife and I and replace the center photo with the two of us and maybe make it slightly bigger than the current one.

Minor change but will be a nice touch. And then off to the printer :)

PERFECT, Vince! I was actually going to suggest a pic of you and your wife in the middle but thought it was as you said, a daughter montage" - Mom and Dad in the middle completes the whole picture and I can't wait to see the final one!

What a special gift!

Just an update on this, the final photo arrived and it's all framed up with a 3mm backer board to keep it from bending since it's so big.
WOW, it is VERY VERY nice... Total cost was around $120 and if I sold it through my photography business I would have to charge around $400 - $500 with the editing work but man is it nice.

Well worth the effort!

Vince
