When I called my daughter yesterday for her birthday she said for me to say HI to Dashiel as she was on speaker. So I said some cool things that only grannies get to say - and she exclaimed! Oh my gosh, he totally started smiling when you started speaking to him! He is one week old, can that be? I am obviously a first time granny - so I may gush a little and do a LOT of baby layouts....

That is so sweet! No grandkids for us yet, but I really hope they live close by when they come!

You probably can't out gush me Andrea! I waited a long time for our little guy. Our daughter was 38 when he was born. She told me recently that if she has another baby, it will really feel slighted because there is no way I can do as many layouts of another one as I have done of Ty. I told her to try me!!! Isn't it wonderful!!??

Andrea, being a grandmother is so special. I love my three girls and just love it when without prompting they say to me... "Love you grandma" ( that is the two oldest ). We will have the two oldest come to stay next month when their Dad goes to a city in another state for an operation on his toe.

Congratulations Andrea! Grandchildren are wonderful and I waited a long time for mine too. They are so worth the wait. I have 5 now and there will be 6 in December. Isn't it amazing how each of us grandmothers are blessed with the sweetest, cutest, smartest grandchildren in the world.

I never married so have no children of my own. I have taken over my nieces and nephews as my own and their children are now like my grandkids. So far I have 8 nieces and nephews. 1 niece has 3 (one I nannyed for when she went back to work so we are real close) the other 2 I am very close to as well. 1 nephew has 2 that I usually see once a week. We are starting to be like the family I remember in California when I was a child. Our Thanksgiving dinners started out small but grew to about 40 people. Luckily we could sit outside. The Ping Pong table came in handy. Sorry, I've been reminiscing the last few days.
