it popped up that itunes had an update so i did it , which i usually do but now when i open itunes it looks so different and i cant find my library of songs...also i wanted to sync my phone as i have in the past to a file i have created where i put my scrapbook pages and also my photos i have taken with my dslr that i would like on my phone but now cant figure out how to sync the phone with compute3r... anyone knwo what the new program update can and cant do

I did the update yesterday, and had major problems. It wouldn't update over half the songs to my ipod, it said I wasn't authorised to play them. It took me over 3 hours to get it sorted, I got so mad I don't want to look at it again for a while.

If I get time, I'll look at it tomorrow, if no one else can answer you.

Bobbie, have you updated your system software for your phone to the latest version? I upgraded my Iphone to IOS 5 on my cellphone, upgraded my Itunes and everything went seamlessly for me. I can't remember if you have a Mac or a PC.

i had updated my phone to IOS 5 awhile ago and that was fine..this was an update to itunes..they ahve a help vidoe but as far as i can say it seems all they did with the update is continue to make it so you buy stuff from itunes..that is what they are all about... i am so mad i did the update... hoping someone can help me cause what i really want to do is be able to put some of my dslr photos on my phone..sure the ones you take with the phone are nice but i have some special ones with my real camera and also my scrapbook pages that i like to be able to show to folks or just look at from time to time

it is all very annoying that they change things so much with no notice and who has the time to learn this and figure this all out

sometimes i really dont like apple

oh btw i have a pc an iphone and ipad

I hear you Bobbie, I refuse to update my iphone and when I went into itunes last night I didn't do the update simply because I didn't have the time... so now I won't do it because it sounds like a mess. if you get this sorted out, then maybe I will follow your lead.

update to phone was fine jo..i did that weeks ago and am liking it but the one to itunes is my problem

Well, maybe I don't have the latest update then, Bobbie - mine is version 10.7...........I think there is another one that I haven't done yet but did update my phone.

Well, I just installed ITunes 11 a couple minutes ago - I'll play around with it and let you know if I have any issues - I didn't get a notice that an update was available for it but went looking and there it was - wish me luck!

Sara and Barbara - great articles. As I was reading the second one I kept thanking my lucky stars that when my Mac wanted to update this morning, I first checked what was going to update and when I saw how iTunes was going to be completely redesigned, I decided I just couldn't deal with it right now.... Whew, but sorry for everyone else's frustrations... I think I will continue to wait on this one.

Bobbie I think you might be able to uninstall that version of iTunes and reinstall the older one. I'm pretty sure it could be done but you'd have to reasearch how.

Bobbie, my update is fine - when I go to the menu at the top of the page (and I do see albums on that page) and click on songs, all of my songs are there in a list just as they were before. I am on a Mac so don't know if there is some difference between the way it looks on a pc or not but I would think not.

Ugh, I hate updates that are really not updates at all, just problems. So sorry for your frustration and hope you can figure out how to roll it back to a previous version. I've had to do that before with an Adobe product; might be worth Googling how to do that.

ok ladies, so i googled my issue and found help.... it seems when you plug in your iphone on the right now the iphone symbol comes up... you would never find it unless you knew.. and there is drop down arrow...also under view you can check something that now makes it look more similar to what it had been... thank g for being able to google things and find others have the same issue... so i was able to now sync my dslr photos that i wanted on my phone... as my iphone is now my grandma "brag book"
