Good Morning Everyone! I just got my new Canon IX6520. Now I'm not sure which paper to use for best color results. I'm going to use it mostly for printing out digital work etc that I will use in a hybrid situation so I need something that will fold easily. I brought home some paper that we use at work in our color copiers but the colors are muted and obviously this paper is not suited to this printer. I've tried all the different print settings and nothing makes it look any better. After looking on line for paper, I am overwhelmed with the choices and was hoping to get help here. I prefer matt finish or a slight glossy. Anyone got some suggestions?

Hi Bobbi ... I have a canon at home and love it. As far as paper - it really depends on the type of project you are working on. For hybrid projects I will use cardstock, water color paper, photo paper, and presentation (or brochure) paper. Again, it will all depend on the project I am working on. The cardstock I use for cards does fold well and is a great weight for cards. Do you have a Staples or Office Max near by? If so, go in there and talk to them about different papers. Go over to their copying department (most of them have one) and ask to see various papers and weights so you can get a feel before buying a reem. Hope this info helps!

Hi Bobbi! I too have a Cannon and love it! Does such a fabulous job. I completely agree with Lei, I have visited the copy center at our local Staples and asked them what type of paper they would recommend for the project I was working on. They have many additional paper choices that are not available for sale in their photo paper / specialty paper section of the store. They even sold me sheets of a specific matte paper that they use only in their copy centre for printing brochures with photos. Hopefully, you can find a good salesperson to work with! Good luck and enjoy your Cannon!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to try and get to Staples today and see what's there. I bought some Kodak paper yesterday at Walmart and it is not giving me good results despite trying about 15 variations on the settings! It's a bit frustrating as the colors are washed out and I was so excited to get this new printer.
Update! Well...silly me~ I didn't install all the software that came with the printer (thought I could get by without it all) so went back and installed the PhotoPrint EX and what a difference! Now I'm a happy camper!!!

You might start with papers made by Canon. The printer's manufacturer usually does a pretty good job of matching their paper to the printer. But, sometimes they may not have the type of paper you're looking for.
