Help
As some of you will remember, Elani was born 4 months ago with a cleft palate and lip. On December 6 she had her op to close the palate. It was such a hard time for this little girl. She was not allowed to drink a bottle and had to be fed with a spoon and sippie cup. Can you imagine taking away a babies bottle? Jennifer-Ann had a really hard time coping with her little princess. On the day of the op, I phoned them at 1pm to see how things were. Elani was screaming for food. The little mite was so hungry and thirsty. Why do they do babies ops in the afternoon? Jenny (sister) was in such a state and J-A as well. It really was a dreadful day. She went in at 1:30 and everything was fine. Elani was all smiles after the op. Today the Professor found a bacteria in her mouth. This could cause the whole op to just go wrong. It's not good. Could you all just please say a prayer for this little girl. Her next op to close the lip in on Feb 11.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts. Elani is home. A few of the stitches came loose but the bacteria is all gone. This little girl was able to breast feed for the first time. J-A is over the moon. All is well praise the Lord.

Aw, bless her little heart. That would be so hard on a parent I imagine. Will keep this situation in my prayers today.

Keeping Elani close in thought and in prayer, Belle. Bless her heart, having to go through surgery and then no bottle to comfort her - that's really hard. Thanks for letting us know and please keep us posted on Elani's progress.

Elani, Jennifer-Ann and the whole family are in my prayers - I hope the bacteria is easily treated and causes her no problems. She is such a beautiful, beautiful baby - just look at those bright curious eyes.

I am happy to hear that Elani is home now. What a sweet baby girl! My son too went through a surgery when he was 5 days old and what I learned from that experience is that babies are very very strong. God bless this beautiful baby girl and your family!
