Have you been rattling boxes under the tree? Checking all of the packages that are delivered to your house?

What do you think you might be getting for Christmas this year from your dear, sweet husband (or significant other - or from someone very special)?

I'm stumped this year - either my Christmas present is soooooo big that it can't be brought into the house yet and he has it stashed away somewhere else or he hasn't been shopping yet! :giggle_bear: :giggle_bear:

I am sooooo curious!

How about you?

LOL, Betty!

I don't have a clue, but DH and I agreed not to exchange gifts this year. Money has been really tight and some unexpected repairs threw us off a couple of weeks ago, but I'm okay with it. :) I loved getting stuff for the kids, and our larger family exchanged names at Thanksgiving so it will be fin to see who pulled my name this year. :)

I know what it is - I was very specific. And I'm really excited to get to play with it on Christmas.

DH hasn't bought me anything yet...he's a last minute guy. But I gave him specific ideas!

I asked for a new phone - a Galaxy S3. I don't know for sure if I'm getting it, but I do know that DH upgraded our phone plan this week.... ;)

Annette and Cathrine are making me an apron. They're sewing for ME for a change. :D They asked which fabric I'd bought for it - and I came home from the store while they were cutting it out; they didn't try to hide what they were doing. I'm still really excited about it. It is that same cute apron pattern they made for themselves which show up frequently in my layouts.

LOL Betty

I know what I'm getting, I told DH what I wanted and stood over him while he ordered it to make sure he got the right thing. He's well known for getting it wrong.

Well, my husband got me an electric blanket--so sweet to sleep so much better--he gave it to me early cause I was too cold--he gets too hot with the heat on. Our kitchen has been tore up for 6 months and he is working like crazy now to finish it before the family comes and it will be pretty much a miracle at this point to have it done. I look forward to not repeating this major job--Some husbands put off remodeling until it is painful.

I know what you mean, Dixie! Rich has been "putting tile down in my kitchen for 6 months now (he says it's still in the thought process!) and the bedroom we were re-doing has come to a standstill! If I could do it myself, I would! He just works so many weird hours and when he isn't working he's sleeping, so maybe I should just hire someone to do it for me! (I'm afraid it will hurt his feelings if I do that though) :) :)

We haven't exchanged gifts in years...I just buy something that we've both been wanting and "needing". This year I got us an electric blanket that I'm using to warm the bed before we crawl in and a super nice coffee maker that keeps the brew HOT! And yes, we did not wait until Christmas day!! We figure at our ages we'd better enjoy the goodies as quickly as we can!

Merry Christmas to everyone!

I'm past the gift stage in life too. My greatest gifts are being with people I love and the smiles and hugs and laughter of my grands. And you're right about enjoying what you got while you can. But I hope its a long, long time.

I put in a good word for you with Santa, Jean - he said his list doesn't show you as being very bad at all! :) :)

We don't really buy any big gifts for each other - just a little something to say "I love you".......Rich has worn a Saint Michael's medal that I gave him since he became a police officer 23 years ago, so this year I had a small infinity "charm" made from silver and it slips right over the chain with the medal. The infinity charm just says "I love you to infinity".........Saint Michael is the protector of police officers.

THE POLICE OFFICER'S PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgement.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
the people.

Amen.
