Got a good, brisk 30 min walk in this morning.

My tip: for those of you who use videos-I ALWAYS put in the next dvd when I am done with my workout for the day. I get it started so literally all I have to do is hit "play"...no waiting on all that other stuff...it's a time saver for me!

Me too Ann...strength, flexibility and balance. Those make such a huge difference in daily life. So thankful to be back on track! I noticed (although I will never admit it publicly...lol) while I was working out before, I didn't have the body aches and pains and stiffness. Oh yes, I had sore muscles, which I came to love...but not the ever day aches and pains!

I, too must admit to some aches and pins that I think are age and lack of excercise related. I am hoping that once the in-laws leave I can get back to my pilates videos, love all that stretching!

Right now, all I want to gain is the ability to take a nice deep breath.

If it's not too late I'd like to join in for January too. I spent about 2 hours at physical therapy today so that would be today's exercise. However, I'll try to do something tonight to make up for yesterday.

Wife to my sweetheart for 13 wonderful years. Mother to three darling children, two girls and a boy.

Another thing I'm trying to do besides exercise is drink more water. At lease a bottle a day. I know some of you only drink water, but for me, it's a challenge. Aside from breakfast, I only drink soda pop. I know it's not good, so I'm slowly trying to change it!

I really like the ab/core workout that is included with TurboFire... well, as much as someone can actually "like" an ab workout LOL... but I know that won't really help you since you don't own that program. I can FEEL it working my core muscles, but have yet to see any of them. Although with the drop in pants sizes over the past year, it obviously works.

I am cutting down on the soda, too. I drink diet, but I know that's not good for me. I have been drinking more herbal tea, but should add some just plain water to my day, as well.

Anyway.... all part of my epiphany going into 2013 LOL. There are several other "no reason not to..." activities I intend to work on this year as well
I did 20 minutes of hula on Jan 1 and 20 minutes of zumba on Jan 2

I really do like Jillian's 6 Week 6 Pack - I don't always go as fast as they do and I take some breaks when I need it. They also show modified moves, at least in level 1. Level 2 can definitely be modified too; she just doesn't "let" the modified girl modify anymore. You know Jillian, she's always being "mean".
If I was starting out without a lot of ab strength, I seriously think I'd just do one round of level 1 or 2 for the first however long I needed to before I moved on (both workouts consist of one round at regular speed, then a second round of the same thing, faster). Level 1 focuses more on abs, and level 2 more on overall cardio.
The reason they say everyone has a 6 pack is that we all have the same musculature/structure, it's just some of us have, um, a bit (more more) "padding" on top;) And the more you use the muscles, the more they will beef up a bit, even with us women and our lack of testosterone (which is what allows men to really get big muscles when they work out).
Anyway, each workout is about 35 minutes or so, including cool down I think, and is modifiable across a wide range. And it was a very reasonable cost on Amazon.
She has a new one out called Killer Abs, lol...not sure I want that one, knowing how "mean" she is in her regular videos...
Conda, if you want more info, pmail me and I can fast forward through the DVD and type out a sample list of the exercises she has you doing...

Dh has been on my case to start taking a multi-vitamin. I saw some at Costco today and picked them up. He laughed at me when I told him it was an impulse item! I just hope I can remember to take them.
