I've come to the realization that there really is NO reason *not* to. Even if I'm sick, a walk outside in the fresh air or doing some intentional stretching or yoga could be beneficial. If I'm super busy in life, a quick 20 minute workout of sorts will be invaluable "me" time and help me clear my head. I don't know why I've looked at exercise as some massive thing to schedule into my day. I just need to DO it. 20 minutes is nothing in the scheme of my day. I waste way more than 20 minutes doing random stuff throughout any given day, I can turn 20 of those non-focused minutes into exercise ones :)/>

So, so, so true, Ang!!! I always think it's going to take so long to excercise, when really I could take all that time I spend on Pinterest and do a great workout!

Of course you can jump in Ang!!! I'm so impressed with all of you working out when not feeling well...

Dh has been on my case to start taking a multi-vitamin. I saw some at Costco today and picked them up. He laughed at me when I told him it was an impulse item! I just hope I can remember to take them.

Chart is updated!

I bought a bottle of gummy vitamins from Target as an impulse purchase. They taste like candy to me, so I am usually pretty good about remembering to take them :)

Mark me done for Thursday - taiko practice, so that's a good 2-3 hours of movement.

Continuing with my home gym innovation approach, I did another 10 laps up and down the "stairmaster", and determined that a round trip of our ground level, from garage door, to master bedroom, with loops through other rooms, amounted to almost 150 steps, or 300 feet....15 round trips equals approximately 1 mile. So I added that along with ten minutes with weights, and ten minutes stretching. This is not as sophisticated a workout as most of you are doing, but my goals are a bit different...and I'M MOVING!!

I love your "gym"...use what ya got, right??

So...I have to ask...what is your favorite ab workout? I'm not really trying for a 6 pack (although Chalene says everyone has a set...???) but I really want to work on that area specifically in addition to my other routine. Anyone have thoughts/recommendations? Bob has an ab yoga workout...which is NOT yoga...that I can do, but I wondered about a program to add on...

Maybe something that's not brutal??? LOL No pain no gain...I know!

I really do like Jillian's 6 Week 6 Pack - I don't always go as fast as they do and I take some breaks when I need it. They also show modified moves, at least in level 1. Level 2 can definitely be modified too; she just doesn't "let" the modified girl modify anymore. You know Jillian, she's always being "mean".
If I was starting out without a lot of ab strength, I seriously think I'd just do one round of level 1 or 2 for the first however long I needed to before I moved on (both workouts consist of one round at regular speed, then a second round of the same thing, faster). Level 1 focuses more on abs, and level 2 more on overall cardio.
The reason they say everyone has a 6 pack is that we all have the same musculature/structure, it's just some of us have, um, a bit (more more) "padding" on top;) And the more you use the muscles, the more they will beef up a bit, even with us women and our lack of testosterone (which is what allows men to really get big muscles when they work out).

Anyway, each workout is about 35 minutes or so, including cool down I think, and is modifiable across a wide range. And it was a very reasonable cost on Amazon.
She has a new one out called Killer Abs, lol...not sure I want that one, knowing how "mean" she is in her regular videos...;)/>

Conda, if you want more info, pmail me and I can fast forward through the DVD and type out a sample list of the exercises she has you doing...

I saw Killer Abs at Amazon yesterday and thought...really??? Who want's to do something named THAT??? Thanks for the information, I might look a bit while I'm out today, then I'll send my questions. It sounds like if I did the 6 week 6 pack, I could just do the level 1 focusing on abs to add to what I'm doing...

Friday is done. Metabolic 1. (no push ups today...) :) But the lat lift...oh my glutes are so tight!!

Look at everyone go! WE CAN DO THIS LADIES!!!

Welcome Ang! Glad to have you here!

Hope you feel better soon Elisha...it's no fun being sick, and you need your rest!!

We broke into the 40's today so I headed outdoors for a long (1.5 hours) walk through my favorite park....with camera in hand. It was just beautiful!

I always forget too, or else I remember when I have an empty stomach and don't want to eat just then.

This is a combination of yoga and strength training. She has you move in and out of a yoga pose several times, then hold it for 15 seconds. I was shaking a lot too.

I got in a bit of a workout, those stairs and a short walk...probably equaled to 20 minutes total. Tomorrow's weather report is looking promising, so I'll make up some lost ground.

Thursday nothing.

Friday and Saturday, I didn't think I was going to be able to do any thing, been away. But I used Ann's idea and created a circuit in the hotel, up and down the stairs, a good 30 mins in one go each day. Thank you Ann.
