Super article! I hadn't thought about working the layout first, then applying the theme. I usually do it the other way, choosing the theme first, then working with the layout. I've often started with a layout I liked, then changed the theme of the layout before working in my photos, then adding embellishments. I'll give this order a try--creative gymnastics for me!
