I've been working on my files and have chosen RO's system of organizing but I also duplicate....Kits together and also separated by their separate elements/supplies. I am now trying to sort my ScrapGirl February Kit and getting a little lost with what needs to stay together, etc. I've studied and read all the organization forums and that has helped tremendously, but I'm a little slow to figure some things out just reading. Is there a video tutorial on the site for visual explanation of your organization work flow? I would love to see how you all sort all of the supplies into folders to know where everything should go. Some are self-explanatory but things like sheets (are they necessary and where do I put them?), minis, etc. Do you keep all layouts together, should JIFFY layouts go in separate folder? I know it's all preference but I can't figure out mine. Almost willing to pay for this tutorial if there is one!

There are so many files to organize, aren't there? So easy to get overwhelmed!! I keep each collection in it's own folder in my "collections" folder. If clubs include Jiffy pages, I keep them within that one collection folder as well. When I work on a layout, I use mostly items from one or two collections so I can find things easily. I can always search for an item using my windows search feature.

So, I have a scrapbooking folder on my ehd, in that folder I have my other folders for things like "collections", "brushes", "styles/actions", "templates" etc. So say, in my templates folder there is a folder for each type of ScrapSimple Template, "alphas", "embellishments", "layouts", "paper" and "word art" for instance.

It is overwhelming and in the end, the system needs to reflect your style. I didn't find any video tutorials.

I do what Conda does. I keep all my collections in tact and include with that any Pocket Life Cards, easy pages, Members only Jiffy Albums, and so forth. I file the folders alphabetically by designer in a parent folder named "Collections". Everything else follows in kind. I have a folder for brushes, templates, etc. Like Conda said, organizing your stuff is really a personal thing depending on how your brain works. There is no right or wrong, just what works for you.

I used to get overwhelmed with it all also. Start small, and don't expect to get everything organized in one sitting. As your collection of supplies grows and you decide on an organizing system, everything will fall into place easily.

My organization is very similar to Conda's. It's all a matter of personal preference. I've had a few different methods over the years. Some didn't work at well as others!

I keep my kits together, too, but I have separate folders for brushes, styles, templates, and frames. If a frame is included in a collection I copy it into the frames folder for a quick search. I like frames. *g*

I have also started appending the folder names with a quick keyword such as "heritage" if it's something I really love.

Since the Jiffy albums and JIF/Zoom files are large, I make a 600 px JPEG of the layout, then move the layout and a copy of the JPEG to my "JIFFY Pages" folder. So the Collection has the IMAGE, but the PSDs and another copy of the images are with all my other JIF/JIFFY/Zoom pages. Otherwise, I duplicate things just as you do.

Separately, since I mostly scrap in 8.5x11 landscape, I also COPY the PSD and then modify it to fit my format. So it has _Letter tacked onto the end. I put 600px JPEGs of this image into collection and with the PSD also.

Thank you all. I think maybe my question is now less of an organization thing, and more of a need to figure out what is what. JIF 6, Super Mini, AYO ZOOM, Super 7 Spread, etc... I'm finding some answers by just digging through the site and looking at product. But I can't figure out why there are Alpha (or other) templates AND the same separated Alpha elements included? Once I understand what everything is then I will know how to organize things.

I'm a VERY slow learner so reading written explanations are hard for me to figure out and confusing (Brain injury, long time ago). Visuals put the pieces together for me better, but I'll get there. And when I can get my toddler to nap, I can dig in! ha ha. Thanks again.

The Boutique helped ALOT with the descriptions. Now I'm wondering why I keep buying the Biggies when there are the awesome, less overwhelming, JIFs and AYO pages. I can't wait to get to the tutorial that you linked. Thanks a ton!

This is pretty much what I do, too. Anything I know I'll use a lot-I make a separate folder for those items, but keep my collections together. Mine get a little scattered when I move them, for some reason.
