Our Son Is A Marine!

Our son made it through the Crucible and received his Eagle, Globe and Anchor and went from being a Recruit to a Marine!(54 hours of a final test...you can look it up on You tube)

We drove to Parris Island, SC on Tuesday to participate in the family activities on base.
We did a Marine tram tour and briefing on Weds.. We got a *glimpse* of our Marines when they went to practice the graduation on the Parade Deck!! It was so hard not being able to run up and give him a BIG hug!

Thursday we were up at the crack of dawn to see DS do the Motivational run with 365 other Marines and then they were given 5 hours of Liberty from 10a-3p with us. Our first time to be with him in 3 months! What a great time we had visiting with him and hearing about boot camp. We had to have him back by 3pm and then we had to wait till the next morning...

FINALLY, graduation day! He made it through, We are so proud! Thought you all would want to see...

Congrats to you all! I remember doing all of those things when our Steven graduated in 2007 at Parris Island. It's great to be a Marine Mom!

Thanks everyone!
We are off and running errands today. Recruiters office check-in-done.
He had to buy a new phone-done
AND he is missing a belt buckle for his dress blues...so we are off to Annapolis to pick on up.

So glad to have him home and never thought I would get so much enjoyment of playing *Taxi mom*!

Thank-you, Karen! I have a lot of crafty friends who have been great prayer warriors, supporters and encouragers to our son.

Had a wonderful dinner made and then he headed to a friends to visit last night.
DS was thrilled when he walked in the door and smelled dessert! I mad him a pecan pie. I had told him in a Thanksgiving letter that when he came home I would be sure and make him one. He enjoyed it!

He wants to go see The Hobbit Weds.. On Thursday, his older brother is taking him to open mike at a local tavern to play a few songs. They really sound great together.
I am going to have a lot of photos to scrap when he is gone!

I need a sale on digital (Americana/Marine) stuff now... :daisy:
