Spoke to my doctor today and he said that all the blood work came back and there are no problems. No lymphoma in the spleen or anywhere else in the body. He still doesn't know why the spleen is enlarged or why the platelets are low.

Next thing on the agenda is on Monday I go in for a bone marrow test. And I can tell you I am not looking forward to that. I told my doctor that I want to be put out so that I don't feel anything. They will have an anesthesiologist on hand to make me as comfortable as possible. For some reason they can't put me all the way out, so I will get a local and then pain meds intravenously. I guess that's better than nothing. I guess?????

Then it will take two days for the results to come in, which means I should know something by next Wednesday. If that test doesn't show what is going on the next thing is a liver biopsy.

So gals, I need your prayers that all goes well on Monday and that they find out what is going on then.

I feel like a pin cushion. Last week I had to give blood two different times. The second time, on Friday, the first girl who took my blood dropped the 'sterile' gauze pad on the floor and put it back on my arm. Then she stabs herself with the needle, panics and runs out of the room and leaves me sitting there. Another girl comes in to take more blood and now she takes it out of my hand. She jabbed the needle into the vein on my right had So now I've got a huge black and blue mark that's about 3x3" and is just starting to fade. Then I had to give permission so that they could do an HIV test on my blood, which is standard procedure whenever anyone sticks themselves with a needle. Then when my friend and I went out to lunch, my right hands starts to spasm and I had lots of pain running down my hand. I couldn't straighten out my pointer finger. Unreal. What a week.

I feel for you, Carol! I always seem to get the people who can't do needles well. I wish they would let me do my own. haha. I was pretty good at it way back when. I always end up black and blue. I'm glad tests are coming back good for you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Carol, that's horrible. I would really have used some harsh words with the lady that took the blood. She was so worried about herself that she gave no thought to you. I really feel for you. It's terrible that you have to go through all this. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Lots of hugs. I really pray that there is a positive outcome.

What an awful time, Carol! Doesn't leave you with much confidence in professionals, does it? I had a similar fiasco with a blood draw last year, and I've fainted with every draw since. I just get so nervous!

Thank you everyone for all your prayers and good wishes. Tomorrow I go and have the bone marrow test. I can tell you that I am not looking forward to that. Results from that should be back by Wednesday and hopefully some answers will be available. If not, then the next step is a liver biopsy.

Will let everyone know what the results are on Wednesday as soon as I hear. Keep your fingers crossed that the answers will be what I want to hear.

Oh, Carol, I'm just seeing this, my friend! I haven't been around the mb too much myself lately and somehow I missed seeing this. What a horrible ordeal you've been through! I always dread those blood tests myself - my veins are small and they tend to collapse and invariably I get a tech who doesn't know to use a butterfly on me and I come out with that same bruise that you have.....and oh, ouch.....it does hurt so! Can't imagine how tough that bone marrow test was but I'm glad they at least tried to make you comfortable.......
