i think there is a way to use an adj layer and just affect the layer below , not all the layers..i think i read something about that in one of the sg nl but cant find it...can any help me?

Can you click the Adjustment Layer icon in your layers palette? It's the little circle that's half black and half white.

Then another menu should come up and there is an overlapping circle icon at the bottom of that one that says "This layer affects all layers below" (click to clip to layer).
