Hi, I am Shirley Burke and I am not sure if I am doing this right but I truly would like any and all thoughts and views on the attached layout. I am a self-taught PhotoShop user and I have just uploaded my first layouts to the gallery today for the "Lucky You" contest. While making myself take the time to do what I really want to do (become a great designer) I was so inspired to do another layout. I found a card from for the Lincoln movie and loved the photos and thought I would design a page. I am so eager to learn from you all and you will not hurt my feelings so please be honest with me. I have something stirring in my spirit I would like to do and your comments will really help me. If I have done this all wrong please direct me.

Oh, I like this!! The only thing I would change is the red around Lincoln's eye and cheek. And, yes you did this right in terms of asking for help. You could post it in the gallery with a link to a thread if you wanted to, but this works fine, too!

Hi Shirley! Welcome to Scrapgirls, since I haven't welcomed you. Very nice looking layout, but you will get more comments if you load your layout in the gallery. It takes a little time to learn your way around here, but there's lots of help available. In the Tips for using the forum at the top of the page, there is a lot of good information on how to do things. It took me awhile to figure it out.
You will get more answers to your questions, usually, if you ask in the Questions thread.
But I hope you get some answers here from someone who can direct you better than I can. I'll check back.

Ms. Carla, I am truly grateful for your comments and thanks for taking the time to view my page. The color on Lincoln's face was my attempt to copy a layout by Brandy Murry using her "Different Strokes Paper". I wanted the face to be different so as to reflect colors because freedom comes in all shades. I will remove the color and also try to redo the color so it much stronger and just have the two different pages.

Hi Jenrou, thanks for welcoming me to the forum. To be honest I couldn't figure out how to get my layout into the gallery (although I read the instructions - I will go back and try again). Thanks for letting me know I had not broken anything and for being so kind to review and comment on my layout. I am off now to try and get it posted in the right place after I do a few tweaks. Jenrou, I have gone back to the instructions under the tips and now I know how to create my own album to upload my layouts. I guess I was just not patient enough, but I promise to do better.
