Resizing For The Web

Can someone give me basic numbers for resizing 4x6 and 5x7 LO's for uploading to a website?? What Pixels and what Number for the Quality....am using PSE 8

When I resize something smaller than 12X12, I don't always change the dpi to 72. Sometimes I keep it at 200 (for small items like atc's). For the sizes you mentioned, I usually put the dpi around 100-150 and then the larger side of the document to 600 pixels. For the quality, I try to make the final size around 125 k so I have to play with the quality a bit.

For graphics to be displayed on the web, consider the resolution of most people's monitors. 1024 x 768 is typical, so if you resample your image to that size, your image will display "full screen".

 

If you resample your image to 512 pixel width, your image will take up half the width of the screen.

 

You can use "high" quality unless the resulting file size is considered too big for the upload.
