ScrapGram Posted December 29, 2013 Share Posted December 29, 2013 I am trying to use COL SS Action Stitch N Holes for Type Paths. I use the version of this action for selections all the time and love it. (Where you use a selection tool on your LO and the action creates stitches and holes along the selection.) Anyway, I can't get it to work on Type Paths. According to the instructions with the action, you use it on separately purchased Type Paths, and make the stitches and holes directly on the Type Path document. Then save it as a different file. The type path that I am trying to use it on is SNU Doodley Doo by Syndee Nuckles. I use PSE 11 and Windows 7. When I run the action, I get a message that says "The object Work Path is not currently available." Then I click an that message two or three times and the Action completes. The layers for the stitches and holes appear on the document, but there is nothing on them. There is a corresponding brush that you have to load for this action and I have done that. I tried it on several other type paths and it works fine. Do you have any other type paths that you could try it on? I have emailed Syndee (the designer of that particular type path) to see if we can put our heads together and figure it out, but thought I'd see if you have any other type paths to test in the meantime! I have a couple of others by Syndee and it doesn't work on any of them. I also tried it on Brandy Murray's Shabby Text type path and got the same message that I get on Syndee's. When I first created this action, I tested it on all the type paths that were currently in the Boutique (mostly by a designer no longer with ScrapGirls), but since that time, other designers have created type paths. Their type paths were saved without a critical element that my action relies on (called a "Work Path"). I love using your actions because they make the stitching look so realistic especially when you then use a style on them like the SS Style ASO Stitching. I have a question for you (or anyone else). Is there an easy way to make holes for stitches? I have multiple stitching brushes, but they don't make holes. They look pretty good when you add a style to them, but holes would make them so much more realistic looking. That is why I like your actions so much but it would be great to create holes for some of my zigzag, cross stitch, etc brushes. Thanks again.
