bcaplen
I scanned a bracelet and would like to include it on a layout. How do I get the background transparent so that just the bracelet is on the layout and not the white background?
teecee
Try this: First make a copy of the scanned image and save it as a png file. Open the file and double click on the background layer in the layers palette to unlock it. (It should say layer 0.) Use the magic wand with Contiguous unchecked, and click once in the blue/gray area around the bracelet. Now you will see marching ants around those areas. Click the Delete key on your keyboard. Now you should see the bracelet with a checkerboard background which is actually a transparent background. Click CTRL + D to deselect the marching ants. You may need to go in with the Eraser tool to clean up some of the edges. Just save as a png file and you should be able to use it on a layout.
