I have PSE is there an actions or styles that allows me to desaturate an item to the gray in PSE 12? If not can someone steer me to directions on how to do this? TIA. Hi Jeannie, From your question I'm not sure if you are asking about desaturating a shadow or an item, such as an embellishment. Anyway, here are some instructions for PSE 11 and I'm thinking PSE 12 would be similar. Perhaps someone who has PSE 12 will be along with more information for you. HTH There are couple of ways to desaturate the shadow Method One: 1.After applying the shadow, double click on the fx symbol on the layer where you applied the shadow. Click to enlarge images 2. A Style Settings box will open where you can adjust the opacity slider to lighten or darken the shadow, and click OK Method Two: 1. When the Style Settings box opens, click on the color chip to open a color picker 2. When the color picker opens select the shade you want to change the shadow to and click OK If you want to desaturate an item, activate the layer the item is on and either press CTRL+U or go to Enhance>Adjust Color>Adjust Hue/Saturation and the Hue/Saturation box will open. I want to desaturate an item (example: a butterfly) so that I can use it as the embellishment's shadow. I have tried with the steps you offered and I can't get the look I need. Oh well.
