Grandmalaptop Posted March 31, 2014 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I recently did some layouts using 8.5 x 11 size - Are there any layouts in the Gallery using this size specifically that I can get inspiration from. I changed over after reading Roz's blog and although they are more limited than 12 x 12 - it is more manageable when putting into albums and getting hard cover albums printed. AggieB Posted March 31, 2014 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I have just been doing a little organizing in my templates directory and noticed that many templates come with both 12x12 and letter size options. I have been able to adapt 12 x 12 templates and have been purchasing more 8.5 x 11 templates etc but love to look how other people are doing 8.5 x 11 so thank you Barbara I will browse your layouts. I have been doing mostly Portrait not Landscape so must have a go at Landscape. Do you use three ring binders or ?? I did albums for my grandchildren and had them hard covered bound for them which was really nice and much easier for them to handle than a 12 x 12. scrappinchar Posted March 31, 2014 Share Posted March 31, 2014 Hi. I switched over to 8.5x11 a while back. Sometimes it's hard for me after doing square for so long. I like the size of the 8.5x11 album, though. I print at home and like to just slide the layout into a sleeve. When I switched, it was sort of Project Life style. I had sleeves with different sized pockets. Now, I just use one regular sleeve. I, unfortunately, haven't scrapped anything since mid December. Smoky Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 I always scrap 8.5x11 - well, actually landscape which is reverse 11x8.5, but you never see it listed that way. I like that I can print at home if I want, and I really like that size when ordering albums printed. They fit on my shelves better than the 12x12s, but are a bit easier on the eyes (larger details) than the 8x8s. There are some neat templates in the boutique - Jacqui Smith has some nice ones.
