CRS
Have you ever tried to take a photo of a pinwheel in motion? Or how about a kite sailing in the wind? Join Theresa (Tiza126) and Carla (CRS) for a Photo Challenge. We'll give you some tips on capturing motion in your photos and layouts! Hope you can join us! We'd love for you to post your layouts featuring those action shots in the Mischief Week Gallery. Here are the tips we shared in chat just in case you missed them: Prefocus. Know where the action is going to be and focus on that area. Take a lot of rapid photos to make sure you get the subject in the shot. Location, location, location. Fast Shutter Speed to freeze subject. Increase ISO if the lighting is low. Slow shutter speed will blur the subject. Panning. Moving your camera to follow the action will blur the background and keep your subject in focus. Works best if you follow the motion across the frame and not away or towards you. Follow through with the movement even after the shutter has closed. Get Low. Shooting from a lower position will make your subject look more powerful. Focus on faces if you can for more drama. Use two eyes. Keeping both eyes open will help you determine depth and help track movement better. Know your subject. Knowing where the action will take place and what to expect is key in getting the shot. Use the “Sports” or “Action” settings. A monopod can help, too. Zoom in as close as you can get. Break the rules for eye catching photos. Have Fun!

April Showers
I have some kite photos from a dozen or so years ago that are on my "photos to scrap" list. Could have used some tips before it took them though.
Nica
lol...yep, blurs, that's what I get...a lot. One of my earlier LOs I titled "Christmas...a blur of activity" because I didn't get a decent photo that year but still wanted to scrap something for the holiday. CRS
I've pretty much stopped trying to take holiday photos because things are just a blur around here, and that's before I take the photos!

jhbren
I don't think I'm going to join this chat - I'm wiped. But I have some photos I took of friends zip lining through the rainforest that I'll try to scrap tomorrow. And I'll check to see if you've posted any additions to this thread. Have fun!
