Midwest Meetup Fall 2014

Recommended Posts

It's never too soon to start thinking about the next meetup! What are our thoughts on location and dates? I know we've had great success with our meetups in the Kansas City and St. Louis areas in the past. I am willing, but hesitant, to host in the Des Moines area this time, for the simple reason that we weren't able to get together this spring, so the fall meetup is bound to be a big crew (YES!), and the Des Moines retreat place only holds 12 overnight guests. And as we all found out, airfare can be expensive to Des Moines.

I'll update this first post with pertinent information as we figure out when/where it will be and who is able to come! And maybe Conda will be so kind as to get a countdown going when we figure out a date;)

I envy you girls, knowing each other, and able to meet year after year. Have fun! :)

lol...Jean, just hop on a plane and join us! That's how we all met at some point. It's amazing how quickly we slip into "old friends" in real life after all our time together online.

BTW, Girls, I'm watching the thread and hoping. The month is traditionally full of various events (like birthday parties), but nothing is set yet. Hopefully once you settle on a date, I can schedule everything else around it. Fingers crossed!

Jean, come join the party! We often have many (sometimes even the majority) flying/driving in from out of the Midwest - the "midwest" in the name just denotes where the gathering is, not who can come. We'd all love to meet you!

So I'm wondering, if the meet-up is in St. Louis, will Tiza be able to join in the fun?

Yep! My schedule should be calm again by October.

So I'd be willing to go to STL again, but I have to request a visit to the Schlafly Tap Room for more of that fabulous beet salad!

LOL...i'm sure that could be arrange.

We could try Schlafly Bottleworks this time, if you'd like. It's a completely different menu. Tap Room is more "bar food" where Bottleworks is more freshly grown, organic type of food. They even have their own garden out back where they grow alot of their own product (which they use in both location) But I don't see Beet Salad on that menu...lol

I like Bottleworks too! Different menu, like Angie said. It has a nice outdoor dining patio if the weather is nice. And it's right down the street from Kakao Chocolate... if we needed to pick up treats ;)
