Karis
Good morning from sunny Sarasota, Florida! I just wanted to say hello ~ again. I joined ScrapGirls a few years ago and fell in love with digital scrapbooking. Then, time (and other crafting obsessions) seemed to get in the way ~ surely this has happened to others? ;-) In any case, I'm back to ScrapGirls and happy to have landed among friends upon my re-entry into such a fun "sport"! No doubt a whole lot has changed...I can't wait to discover new tools and techniques. My cart currently has 21 new products to buy so I'll have no lack of fun scrappy things to choose from. I do have a few questions for any of you that might print your designs on fabric ~ which is what I'm hoping to use my skills for these days as I now design and sell handbags. So, if there's anyone out there with similar interests, I'd sure love to chat with you. So happy to be back, Karis Sarasota, Florida

April Showers
Welcome Back! So glad to see you back on the forum. I've done some fabric printing and even wrote a newsletter tutorial on it several years ago. A lot of how well it works depends on your printer and the type of inks it uses. I've researched more than I've actually done, but it is something I'm interested in too.

Karis
Welcome Back! So glad to see you back on the forum. I've done some fabric printing and even wrote a newsletter tutorial on it several years ago. A lot of how well it works depends on your printer and the type of inks it uses. I've researched more than I've actually done, but it is something I'm interested in too. I'll have to check out your tutorial, April. I have been working on some designs to be printed through Spoonflower. I'd rather have their workhorse professional fabric printers do the work than my printer on pre-treated fabrics (which seem to come out too stiff and with too many limitations). I hope to have something done in the next week and then I'll whip it into a handbag ~ what better way to combine my two loves?

Debbie Cleek
Hi Karis - Welcome back to Scrap Girls! I love the picture in your avatar of you sewing outside. Here is a tutorial on our blog from a few years back that shows how to print on fabric that should get you started: http://scrapgirls.com/blog/tutorial-how-to-make-your-own-small-sewing-kit/ I hope if you try it you post a picture of your project in the Gallery. It's such a fun idea and so many different ways you could go with it!

kerryveale
Hi Karis! I used to print on fabric for fabric collages/art quilts but have not done it for several years since switching to a laser printer. It is my dream to print up some fabric and make a custom dress out of my designs!
