Is there a limit as to how many fonts you should have installed....seems like there was WAY back when I first began to do paper scrapping....does it not matter anymore with the bigger hard drives??

I'm curious about this too. Is there a way to keep fonts on your computer but not have them load into Photoshop every time you open it? It seems to slow things down and some of them I hardly every use but I'm afraid to delete them in case they are part of a program I still use.

I know what you mean....so many that I think are a part of windows......is there anyway to get a list of those that are a part of your program....I think at one time I knew that too.....LOL......A lot of things I don't know anymore LOL.....course there are a lot of things I know now I did not know then!!!

You can use font manager software to turn fonts off and on so they don't all load. Some are free, some are spendy and some work better than others.

Lots of fonts will make PS open more slowly.

Same problem here, too many fonts! Either a search on Google or on Microsoft there's supposedly a list of default windows fonts. I plan to just make a copy of all of the fonts, and them weed out, keeping the copy. ???

In Windows I'm showing 486. Would that be all of them?

I would imagine that would be what is installed.....mine shows 319.....there are sure a lot of just plain, basic ones that I did not install..................

In Windows I'm showing 266 fonts. However, I think I have more than that hiding somewhere on my computer.

I have 359 fonts. I know a lot of them are ones I installed myself, but I have no idea how many I have installed!

I have over 1000 fonts installed. Maybe there is a recovery group for font addicts somewhere. ;)

I have a Font folder and have 31,036 fonts in it.....have sub-folders by Alphabet and many of them have over 2000 in them....have been collecting for over 20 years, began when I started paper scrapping.....Have been kind of picky as to what I downloaded, but I have been meaning to go through them and delete a lot I know I will never use....someday......I think I need to install more of those I really like tho and venture out and try new ones not just the same old favorites.....I did break them down and file by category too.....like Block, Brushstroke, Callegraphy, Handwriten, Fancy, Funky, Grunge etc......I am in need of a Recovery group more than you April LOL

I have way more fonts than I have installed. I keep them in a font folder too. I have tried several different font manager softwares. The last one I tried was Suitcase Fusion which I really liked... except the newest version has a bug that crashes Photoshop. :( I wish the part that crashes it worked though. It will automatically install a font used in a layout if it isn't installed. Not willing to actually buy it until they fix it though.

I thought I had a lot of fonts at 1034, but Ande43 must have us all beat at 31,036! If you used five different fonts a day, you would go 17 years before having to repeat a font!

My goodness, Carol - 31,036 fonts! I thought I had a lot - too many - at 369. Need to do some trimming. But I don't know if there's a limit on a Mac, and Font Book makes them easy to manage and find.
