alsoarty
July 17th Our illustrious Captain has invited you all to a costume party in the ballroom. Search the boutique for two items you think would make a fun costume. Do you want a stamp on the passport? Then you need to add at least one fun embellishment to your avatar for the rest of the month. This stamp will not be awarded until the end of the month. I think you all look beautiful! MariJ
I'm not sure about the double dipping, Ann. Maybe Theresa or Valerie can clarify that for us??? Ok, group photo! Everyone line up along the Great Wall!!! Wouldn't that be amazing?? Oh, I LIKE the idea of a group photo, Carla! Very cool!
Stage Manager K8
Guess what? I finally finished my Windmill layout! I used this tutorial on the background paper. I used a gradient layered on top of the Scrap Simple paper and a 2nd gradient underneath. Then I just played with the blending modes till I liked it. CRS
July 26th We’ve lost some members of the Welcoming Committee! They need help getting back to the group. Add an arrow or Chinese character to your layout to help them find their way. Post your RED AND BLACK, with an arrow or character, in the Scrap Girls World Tour Gallery. Requirement: Post a link to your layout in this thread. This is worth one stamp in the passport.
CRS
And don't forget, tomorrow (July 26th), there will not be a new task posted. Take some time to recover from the jet lag!

jhbren
Here's my red & black page, Karin meets Tae Sin. I found this old picture which just demanded a red & black page, and Karin is Asian! I used the Fun with Gradient Maps tutorial on the red background layer and the two large flowers. That was fun, and I can see the difference between that technique and using a hue/saturation adjustment. I'll have to remember to use it more often; it's so easy! I added a Chinese character, tucked into the cluster (which was scrap lifted from one of the sample Los for Brandy's Asian Beauty collection.) Karin's Korean, but an arrow didn't seem applicable to the page. The character means "love".

englishrose
Here is my red and black LO. I used Syndee's tutorial to improve the photo which had been scanned, reduced and emailed to me. Dust showed badly on the men's trousers and I spent ages removing tiny spots of white! A black and white version looked better in the LO and after I'd converted it and sharpened it I realised that there were spots of dust remaining and they showed worse than ever! Consequently I had to use the technique a second time.

Marie-Christine
I've got some catching up to do. The gallery is looking amazing. The Tutorial I'm going to use is 'Blend your Photo's into your background using the Gradient Tool' don't really use the gradient tool much in my lo's. so I'm going to give it a go.
