*JT*
Does anyone know where to find content with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or super heroes? My son LOVES TMNT and would love me to do the photo album with that theme this year. Thanks in advance! JT
ValerieT
For copyright reasons you will not find any specific character, sorry. There are quite a few comic book style products in the boutique that might be suitable. Comic Strip Paper Mini Comic Book Alpha Comic Bursts Word Art Mini Value Pack: Comic Book digiDoer Comic Book Collection There are more than this, I just picked a few. Go to the boutique and type "comic" in the search box. There are some layout templates too.
*JT*
Thanks, Valerie! That's actually what I thought, unless of course someone had paid for the licensing. I'd have to make my own, like I did last year. It took FOREVER and did not give me the results I wanted. I think with PSE instead of Shutterfuly software, I think I'll be able to come up with more of what I want. The biggest problem I have with most of the content I've found so far is that it's all...well for want of a better term, too pretty. Or too cute. Since it's just my son and me, I don't usually do pretty books. I go for more of the "cool" look, if you know what I mean. LOL! Otherwise he says it's to girly! jhbren
Some ideas for making your own superheros: You could draw your own, coloring as you wish, and scan - if you have a scanner. That's a bit faster than drawing in PSE, or other program. There are lots of images available on line, some of which are copyright free as well as free downloads; I don't know if superheros are included. Depending on the age of your son, you might find something workable by searching for free coloring pages online, too. To avoid the girly complaint, use blending or adjustment layers to modify colors, or use papers with a grungy or boy feel to clip to your characters and/or backgrounds. Good luck with your project! *JT*
Thank you! I've always managed with color schemes and backgrounds. The hard part has been that the embellies are pretty girly. I have a hard time finding "boy" stuff. Last year I spent hundreds of hours making embellies from pics I'd gotten online. (Not sure that's legal actually, but I wasn't making money or posting them anywhere. They were just for my use.) But it was incredibly time consuming and left me little time to make the actual book. I need to find embellies that already have that grunge or boy feel to them. The superhero pack might work. Ok, gotta run to work. Thanks for all your help! =)
