Resizing Photos

the photos I have taken with my new Canan camera are too large to send via email I find.....what is the optimal size to resize to. Just do like I would a small LO in PSE??

It depends on what the receiver is planning on doing with them. If they are just going to look at them on their device (computer or phone), yes, save them just like for posting in the gallery here.

 

If they want to print them, you have a couple of different options. You can save the files in a ZIP folder. Depending on how many pictures you put in the folder, it should compress them enough for your e-mail client to accept them. Or you can use an outside service like HighTail or Dropbox (my preferred service). Both are free. HTH

If you are using Windows and sending pictures other options, depending on your version, are to highlight the picture(s) and choose E-mail in the bar above or highlight the picture(s) and then right click a highlighted picture and choose 'send to' and then choose mail recipient and a box will open giving several options about what size you want to send. If your email is open and the window is minimized you will have to maximized it to show the email to be sent. If email is closed this opens the program. At least that is what Windows 7 with Thunderbird does. I use this a lot and like the fact I can use different sizes, depending on who I'm sending to.
