lindarobin
Can we create our own brushes with PSE or is this something done in Photo Shop?
teecee
Yep, you can create your own brushes in PSE. Use a transparent background, and the brush size can be no larger than 2500 pixels on the longest side. When you are satisfied with your image, go to Edit>Define Brush to name it. You'll then have to save it in the preset manager as an abr file. HTH You can also create a brush from any png file the same way.

For more detailed information about brushes including how to create your own, this ebook is fantastic: Mastering Brushes for Photoshop Elements. The product description outlines all of the great info contained in the book. lindarobin
Just want to be sure I didn't miss anything... I took a clipart graphic and made it into a brush. Using this new brush, I "stamped" it onto my page and the stamp appears in the color that is my foreground color. The original clipart is blue, yellow and red. Can a brush keep all the original colors?

Can a brush keep all the original colors? No, it makes it solid black. You can adjust dynamics in the brush (not sure if you can do it in PSE) to make it use both the foreground and background color, but it won't be colored like the original. Yes, you can adjust the dynamics in PSE as April mentioned, by adjusting the Brush Settings and using the foreground and background color chips, but it won't be colored like the original. lindarobin
Thanks, April. Back to "copy, paste, resize, rotate"... although I'll certainly be playing with new brushes, too!
