CRS
Join Carla (CRS) and Marilyn (MariJ) for a fun chat about colophons! A colophon is an identifying mark or emblem used by a printer or a publisher. For card makers, it is a little design on the back of the card identifying who made it. We’ll have some tips about making them quickly and easily, as well as some ways you can customize them for different cards. Hope to see you in the chat room! Post your colophon sample in the gallery, share the link in this thread, by 12 midnight ET tonight, and we'll pick a random winner for a Brush Set! GrannieEv
I really wanted to join in the chats but I got unexpected visitors and I was so glad to see them.... I just wanted to say that's a big word for that little (usually little) thing on the back of a card!
Ngaire
Well this was a super interesting experience learning what a colophon was. Sorry never made the chat but gave making one a go. Nothing very creative like some of the beautiful ones that are showing up but was fun to do anyway. Here it is.

lorac
I missed the chat. I wanted to learn how to do Colophons. Where can I find some info on this?
CRS
In card making, a colophon is the signature or logo section often found on the back of greeting cards, copy right info, or contact info. (about.com). It's usually on the back of the card, in any location (get creative). Why include one? To identify who took the time to make a handmade card. Plus, it’s like a little surprise at the end. You can use frames, ribbons, clusters, brushes, fonts.....it's like making a MB siggy, but on a card. You can make it to match the card or your own personalized logo that is the same no matter what kind of card you create. HTH some!

I'm going to give it a shot and see what I come up with. I'm off to the Botanical Garden today for their new exhibit, Kiku. Lots of photos to be taken. I saw this exhibit last year and it was beautiful. The Chrysanthemum, kiku in Japanese, is the most celebrated of all fall-flowering plants, and hundreds of meticulously trained 'kiku' will be on display.
