Barb Eugene
I have Elements 11 and just bought Emily's Brushed Borders Biggie. I installed the brushed but when I tried to use them, I got a message that they were not compatible with my version of Elements. Has anyone else encountered this? teecee
Hmm, I don't have that set, but they should work in PSE 11. You may want to double check to see if you copied/pasted the ABR files here: C>Program Files (x86)>Adobe>Photoshop Elements 11>Presets>Brushes. Let us know if you still need help. Emily Abramson
Hi Barbara!! I am so sorry you are having problems. Thank you Theresa for letting me know. I am going to send you a dropbox link thru PM to another version of the file, in case the one you downloaded was corrupted. I have tested my brush file in Elements 13 this morning and it works fine. I loaded the brushes by going to Brushes, Load Brushes, then pointing at my file. It then loads the brushes to your brush palette. I did not go through Presets at all. I tried loading them there and was not able to see them. However, not receiving any error messages at all.
Barb Eugene
Hi, Emily: Thanks for sending me the replacement file. I deleted the original downloaded file and installed the recent one as Theresa describes above. In Elements 11 I don't have the option of loading as you describe. I am still getting the error message that the brush is not compatible with my version of Elements. Perhaps it's compatible with Elements 13 but not 11???????? Barbara Hi Barbara, You can load brushes in PSE 11 as opposed to installing them in the presets folder. The difference is, when you load brushes, they only stay in the brush menu temporarily. When you install them in the presets folder, they stay permanently. Here's some information from an older post that may help you. I'll also see if I can get you some screenshots to help: To install brushes (.abr) files: With PSE 11 closed, Go to where you have your .abr files on your computer, right click on the .abr file you want to install, and choose Copy (If you want to install more than one at a time, hover over each icon, click in the little box at the top left of the icon to highlight/select it, then repeat for the other one(s) you want to install. Don't click anyplace else or you will de-select the one(s) you have already highlighted. With the ones you have chosen to install highlighted, right click on one of them and choose Copy.) Next, go to (C:)>Program Files(x86)>Adobe>Photoshop Elements 11>Presets>Brushes. Right click in the window and choose Paste. Now when you open PSE 11, the files should be there and ready to use. One other thing you may want to remember is you can also Load a brush if you only want to use it temporarily. If you load a brush, it will only stay in the brushes palette temporarily. If you install a brush into the presets folder it will stay in the brushes palette. To load a brush, click on the brush preset picker and click on the little icon at the top right (a tiny down arrow next to 4 tiny lines) to open a flyout menu. Choose Load Brushes. Navigate to the .abr file you want, select it and click Load I normally only install the the ones I know I'm going to use quite often and I also install dynamic brushes. I usually just load other brushes as I need them or sometimes even use the png files.
teecee
Hi Barbara, I just sent you a PM. Apparently there is a problem with the file. I just tried and it won't install or load for me either. I'll send Emily a message to let her know.

Emily Abramson
Barbara, We have sent the issue to Angie (she is a genius) as it seems to be an Elements 11 issue. I am not able to load it in 11, but can in 13, which does not make sense. So...we will be in touch with a solution. In the meantime, you can use the provided PNG files to use in your layouts. xo
