Template Help

OK, ladies, I am not going to give up on templates. I have one more question. I will use Cindy Rohrbough's template as an example. There are some pieces of the template that I would like to attach to a paper or color, but I can't figure it out. The template was given out at the template chat and the pieces I am talking about are the rectangles under the flowers. I am going to try to attach it here.post-13661-0-72604300-1414986176_thumb.jpg

The small rectangle pieces are on separate layers (should be a PSD file). I changed my color chips with the eyedropper to be the color desired and then selected the layer (clicked on it once) and use the paint bucket to fill with color. Hope that helps.

Hi Karen, are you trying to attached a paper to the rectangles?

If so you go to that layer in the psd or to the png and put the paper in the layer above it and clip it to the rectangle by pressing "Command+Option+G" for a Mac or "Control+Alt+G" for a PC. This will create a clipping mask and clip the paper to the shape.

You can also go to the menu bar and select Layer>Clipping Mask

There are many ways to color. I usually just select the layer (rectangle) and the marching ants show up around the image and then go to Layer>New Fill Layer>SolidColor.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any additional questions - Cindy

Thanks, Tina, forgot about the paint bucket. Duh!

Thanks, Cindy, works like a charm. Don't know what I was doing last night. Thought I tried everything, apparently not. I guess the fatigue was setting in.
