Project Life 2015...coming Soon!

2015 is right around the corner!!! With the awesome Boutique Sale going on right now it's a great time to start planning ahead for those PL 2015 layouts. Everything I have been reading says that a little advanced planning is the best way to stick with this all year long.

So, how will you be doing your Project Life next year? There are planners, calendars and layout templates all devoted specifically to helping you have a successful year scrapping Project Life. Or maybe you like a more eclectic approach to your album and plan to use a variety of products. Whichever method you choose, don't let this chance to stock up on some supplies pass you by!

While we are on the topic, don't forget to pull out your camera and capture those first of the year photos! We will "officially" kick off Project Life 2015 in January, but I would hate for you to miss out on those New Year's photos.

A few suggestions to photograph:

New Year's celebrations

Traditional New Year's foods

The weather

Something that may represent any resolutions or changes you hope to make this year

A self portrait

So who will be joining me in 2015? I can't wait to get started!!

I'll be doing it! I've done it the past 6 yrs and the family loves it, and the girls love to show family we don't see very often! I do a 2 page spread for each month instead of a photo a day. I only have December 2014 left to do and then a cover. I usually pick an album template set and stick with that set for the whole book. I haven't decided what set to use for 2015. Guess I better get thinking!

I plan to do this next year but I don't know if I will be able to stick with it.

Stick with it or Catch up ....we are all in the same boat! Going to do it.....It is so fun to look back at those LO's from years ago.

I hope to do it again next year. I miss not doing a photo each day so I am going to try that again in 2015, My pages may be just very basic ones with not many embellishments and simple journaling.

lol...I'll be honest. I do a layout per month...usually all in December. :embarrassed003:

BUT you have photos to scrap. That's the important thing.

You can do it Valerie! Plan out what you want to do, then stick to your plan. Your family will cherish it whether it's a photo a day, LO a week or LO a month.

I have a plan of sorts.

I'm going to use a template set, and a double page a month. That way I can do extra if I want to, but won't feel guilty if I don't do a layout every week.

I think I'll try again ... somehow I get to fall (Oct / Nov) and loose steam. My newest strategy is to just start now and move forward catching up when time allows. I'm going to retire this year ... surely that must mean more scrapping time.

Yay for more scrapping time!

My plan is to go very basic using Jacqui's planner and templates for the everyday stuff and save the fancier, more involved layouts for special occasions. Part of my goal with this is to use it to get more proficient with my dslr, too.

I think one of my biggest problems with keeping up comes in when I try to get too fancy and involved with my layouts, the other is that I don't keep up with my journaling thinking I will "remember" those everyday details I want to journal about. So, with a streamlined layout approach and carrying my planner with me to jot down the daily details I hope to stay current this year.

That brings up a question that often bogs me down...

How do you decide what photos/event get their own layouts and what gets put on your PL layouts?

Well...I have a plan. Now, I just need to stick to it, rather than waiting until December! I really like the calendar pages that I've seen some of you do, so I thought I would try it this year along with my typical Pocket style page.

I did PL in 2012 with a page a week... Then in 2013 with two pages a month... 2014? Zero... :D

I have to admit I've kinda missed it so am trying to figure out the easiest way to do 2015. Even the "allergic to templates" me had to admit it was MUCH easier using them and Melanie, I agree - when I tried to get fancy it got too overwhelming.

I loved Laraine's nature-photo-of-the-day pages and have thought of doing that, but it will be a lot of pages to print... I'm considering doing a sorta "stream of consciousness" sort of format where I take a pic a day and just keep filling pages... Not sure that would work... Or if I'll follow through..... But I'd like to try again and still deciding on a size, too. Last few times I did 5x7 because Costco prints them for 39 cents! This time I'd actually like to have it printed /bound, but a photo a day will be expensive! Decisions, decisions.............

When I did mine Melanie, I put the daily going-ons in the month, if there was a big event I might give it it's own page. But, I left the PL for more of a "diary" type of book so not many events had their own pages.
