Task #18

I usually delete from my camera but I'm hesitant now and don't delete as many as I once did. Yes that means storage issues but since taking up digital scrapbooking I've looked at these images in a different way. A blurry unfocussed photo can be just as useful as the best quality ones. I have a recent example where I took a photo of a show girl walking along the street in Las Vegas, it had lens and motion blur all over the place and it was badly out of focus but the photo did capture the sparkle of the costume and captured the impression of movement. I've used the photo as background paper to my better quality night shots of Vegas.

I agree, Eden, sometimes the motion captured is so much more important that a perfect focus.

I usually look at my photos when I download them and delete the bad & ugly. Although sometimes a folder of photos will sit for a (very, very) long time before I get around to it. I am trying to put those poorly taken, but neat colored photos in their own folder so I can find them again, if for nothing else than to choose some colors for a layout.

Task 18 - Doing

We are supposed to have a beautiful sunny day here today! We are taking my in-laws to the airport to fly home later this morning, so I'll have to take some snapshots this afternoon.

Since this is the last week, be sure and spend some time catching up if you have fallen behind!

<------- Needs to catch up!

For me, this is catch up day for last week. Last week - actually, the last two weeks - have been really disorganized. It's gray and rainy here, in the low forties, and depending on which forecaster you catch, it could stay the same or develop into a nasty wintery mix. I don't know quite how I'll fit that into a page for the goals I've set myself for this week - catch up birthday and school layouts about David and/or Elizabeth. To start, I'm sure I'd need a new photo or three. But I'll keep it in mind.

While working on my photos, I realized I'm not very good at rotating them when I upload them. When I preview them, they preview the correct orientation, but when stored on my ehd, they are not. So instead of cocking my head to look at them, I'm making an effort to fix them when I find them. I'm going to set up a back up for this afternoon, too.

Task #19

We are having a snow day today and probably tomorrow, too. There isn't much yet, but there is supposed to be 2-4 inches today and more tomorrow, so I'll hold off on photos until there is something to see. I do have snow photos from last week I can use if I don't get any today.

Task #19

Our weather this week is very boring. Cold but above freezing, and no precipitation forecast. I took a few photos off my balcony and picked three of them. If I get a chance later in the week to take something better, I will.

It's colder here this morning than it has been. (It was 60 on Friday!!) I snapped a photo of our pond, but the frost was already gone this morning. It's bright and sunny so the photo will be a bit deceiving since it was below freezing when I snapped it! An odd number...for me will be 1 photo!!

I think it would be okay to take a screenshot of a weather forecast, as well. Our east coast friends will have some wild weather to photograph this week!

That they will, Melanie! Be safe everyone!!

I have to play catch-up since I've had company all weekend.

Task # 16 - added 10+ lines of journaling.

Task #17 - Finished and posted my Everyday Blessings layout.

Task # 19 - As for weather photos, I have the perfect photos to use that I took on Saturday. St. Louis enjoyed a beautiful spring-like day and the sky was a deep beautiful blue. So I'll be using 3 photos.

UPDATE: Well, apparently I can't read when I don't feel well. I'll have to select three of the photos I took today (didn't take any yesterday--I know it's shocking!)

I can use Saturday's beautiful photos in my PL pages.

Task 18

I'm in the process of deleting all my duplicates and using PSE13 organiser to do it. I'm so inclined to take 10 of something just to get the right shot. I also like keeping some blurry photos to use in silhouettes and sketches.

Well we didn't get the big blizzard but they cancelled school again today. I'll take some photos this morning but I bet the once from last week are better! I'll start working on my layout, too!

Of course they did, Carla, at this rate the girls will have to go to school all summer to make up for their "Snow days"!

Speedbump 3- I save all supplies and photos to an EHD and back up to a second one. I am thinking I either need a 3rd one for another back up and store at my dad's or look into one of the Carbonite type of services.

Task #18- I am horrible at deleting photos. I keep thinking I may learn some new technique to fix them and make them usable!!!

I took some photos yesterday - all through my rainy windshield. Need to choose an odd number. Carla, I was amazed when I looked out the window at our half-inch of snow and dry roads - and the school closings scrolling under the news.

Forgot to post Task 18 from last week . . .

I actually do delete unwanted photos when I transfer them from my camera, or DH's, and they get organized by date in iPhoto - I don't usually have to think about that, just give each "event" a name. PIctures from relative's phones don't even get downloaded unless I'm fairly sure I can find a way to scrap them - which is not to say that I actually DO scrap them.

On the day this task was posted, I went through my iPhone, deleted a lot of unwanted photos, and transferred the rest to iPhoto. Up to date & organized! Thanks for the prompt.

Tasks #19 & #20 progress: I chose 3 photos of weather through the windshield, edited for clarity, then added frames using one of my four papers. Two papers are in the background, but one is visible only as a border - is that cheating? Paper 4 waits for inspiration or future tasks - perhaps a journaling block.
