ScrapSimple Paper Templates: Editable Calendars I am pretty sure these are 12 x 12, although it doesn't specifically say that. These are perpetual, meaning the dates are not filled in, but that's pretty easy to do.

This is the one I use! You have to shift the dates a bit every year, but there are -I think- four different designs included. I use a different design each year.

Is it a PSD file???

Exactly what I wondered, Becky. I love how yours look so tried to buy what I thought you used, but each date square wasn't a PSD file in the ones I have. Is this one individual boxes? I know I can do it myself, but I don't like when they are not PSD to start. Lazy I guess, I want the designers to do it for me! :D

I just purchased Syndee's calendar ... yes, they include PSD's!

Just now seeing this! Glad you got the answer.

To move the numbers into place, I click and highlight the last numbers I need to move, like say 26-30. Then I just scoot them to the right so they are in place on the proper days of the week. The I repeat this for the prior set of numbers, whatever I need to then move into Sunday - whatever. I also usually highlight the numbers of each entire week and then align the bottoms of the images to keep it clean.

I use PSE 9, btw.

I sent Syndee am email asking her about these calendars.

Okay, she said that if they say they are editable, then they will be in .psd format. Now, whether or not each square is on a separate layer, I am not sure.

No, each square is not a separate layer. There is one layer that is just the squares. I add my text over top of it all, and the same with some embellishments.

I know from past experience a template is essential for me... it just took me so many tries to choose the right one and set it up how I want it! Same with the font, the week marker and everything else... days just trying to settle on a choice lol... HERE is what I plan to use for 2015... thanks for hosting us Melanie!

Thank you Becky, that's exactly what I wanted to know. So, when you put photos on your calendar page in a date box you make it into a layer yourself?

When this happens to me on a layout, Marilyn, I either just clip my photo to the entire layer and just resize it until it fits in the portion I want, or I use the elliptical marquee tool to trace around the area I want on it's own layer and then either cut/copy the piece.

Yes, this is what I do, too! Personally, for the most part I only use the calendar page to record text of events. I don't always use those events on my weekly pages, but I can see an overall feel for that month. Each of those styles has a header, footer or both, where there are masks to clip photos.

I had a bit of an epiphany this morning, so I thought I'd share it here. (Pun only partially intended, since Epiphany was a few days ago!) At Facebook I love posting photos for Throwback Thursday and think that this year I will include that photo in my weekly layouts. I think it will be a fun addition and another way to get some older photos scrapped.

Angie made some awesome ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Pocket Life - Week In Review Biggie that are in the boutique!!! Love that they are ScrapSimple because then you can match them to any collection you want to use!

Marlene has some wonderful new layout templates, as she mentioned earlier in the week: ScrapSimple Digital Layout Album Templates: Scrap It Monthly Series 1

Thanks to both of you!

I tried using magic wand and making a clipping mask, but that's too much trouble so I've gone another route with a different template.

Hopefully it will work! So far, so good, fingers crossed.

Glad you like them. I went back and forth on a color scheme then it hit me "ScrapSimple" like you said that way you can use it for any layout.

They jumped right into my cart a few minutes ago Angie! Along with Syndee's new SS DLO Templates:

One Word.

I thought in my search for my "One Word" ("LIGHT") through the year, I might do an occasional page scrapping what I've found. Either I will delete the background and use the photo/masks on a page - or do an entire "Light" page in between my weeks.

Sound like a plan? :D

That does sound like a good plan! I was thinking that Word of the Year should be included somewhere, too, and I like your idea of revisiting it with a layout during the year.

As we cruise into Week 2 of PL2015 I already notice that my camera hasn't been out as much as it was last week. It is not my intention to do a "photo a day" with my layouts, but I have to have something to put on the page, right?

Some of my favorite photo prompts from a few Photo a Day Lists I have read for the first 2 weeks of January are:

The Weather

Self Portrait- I think this one should be done at least monthly, get yourself onto those pages!

Day Time

Night Time

Reflections- This is a popular word around here lately ;)

Going to try this for this year. Haven't been much interested before, but the layout using the blended calendar templates really caught my eye. I have all of Brandy Murry's blended calendars, 12, 13, 14, 15 years. (love them!) I like 8x5 x 11 landscape for printing into books. The templates are easy to split apart. You say a requirement is that the all the pictures used have to be taken in 2015. I would like to use a pictures of my Dad on his memorial day in Oct. Obviously there is no way to get a new picture. Haven't taken any pics this month. Need to get busy!

Welcome Hilary and Scrapgarden, so glad you will both be joining us!

As far as the "all photos must be taken in 2015" rule, Scrapgarden, your father's photo would certainly be an understandable exception.

What are you photographing this week?

I've previously done weekly, then bi-monthly pages, and have been toying and playing around with all kinds of ideas for this year. I really wanted to do a photo-a-day because I was so inspired by Laraine's gorgeous Nature photos last year. But, I realized that with weekly pages it would be pretty expensive to print into a book, which I'd really like to do this time.

So, I finally decided to do a photo-a-day and continue on the page until I fill it and then start another. I'm trying Brandys' Mood Board Templates for now and taking "interesting" pics. Which means trying to be observant through my day and zooming in on parts of an item, ending up with an artsy sort of page. I've photographed a broken christmas ornament, my little cousin's eyes... things that to me show what was happening that day.... So far it's working, fingers crossed it continues and I can keep it up... Oops better go look around - forgot a pic for today. :)

I think that I am going to try this this year :). I'm going to try and take pictures every day - I mean come on, lets be real I do anyway on my phone. I am going to make sure that I am better at doing a layout a week and document our week. I think having the girls every other weekend will help and motivate me to make sure that we keep track of all of the fun stuff that we do.

Guest Doris R

Obviously...I'm missing something on how to correctly link my images to the forum. I thought I had it...but again OBVIOUSLY I do not. Help, anyone?

Hi Doris, I think rather than posting your images in the forum, what you want to do is post a link to the images you posted in the gallery. Here is a tutorial that may help: How to Post Links in the Forum HTH :)
