CRS
I haven't read it, but it's been on my list for awhile now!
AnnBK
Must read! Hard to read a lot of it, but important. Probably should be required reading for high school history classes.
Cheri T
Yes - it's a great read. What resilience, of body, but even more astounding, mind. I have not seen the movie and probably will not.
AnnBK
I've seen the movie, and thought it was good, but not as good as the book. A little disappointing, actually.
Marie-Christine
I must read this, i will put this on my list to read. Thanks for posting this. I'm always interested what people are reading... Currently I am reading Yellow Crocus by Laila Ibrahim, very moving, it is about human slavery and the struggle to be free.
Elisha
Yes, I've read Unbroken. Would highly recommend it! I've also read Yellow Crocus. It's good too. Enjoy it Marie!
GrannieEv
I don't plan on seeing the movie, either, Cheri. Thanks Ann, good to know I won't be missing anything and I agree with you about the hard read and a should read.
Sara Arell
I'm reading a Mary Higgins Clark book right now - "I've Got You Under My Skin" - it's a mystery and so far, so good. I'm not a huge fan of Clark's but this one might bring me around to her fan club. I love anything that's a mystery!
Hummie
I started to read it. Hubby read it and loved it. I think it is a good book for male and female to enjoy. The movie is on DVD now for rental. They say not to watch the movie until you read the book.
Rosemarythyme
I haven't read Unbroken, but I'm currently reading book 7 of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Hummie, I'm also from "the Cape"
princessrunningfingers
I haven't read "Unbroken", but I recently read "The Nightingale", which I thought was excellent, also about WW2.
MariJ
I haven't read "Unbroken", but I recently read "The Nightingale", which I thought was excellent, also about WW2. I like reading about WWII so I've marked both of these down. I also really enjoyed "War Brides" by Helen Bryan.
April Showers
I finally read Unbroken last month. It is an excellent book. I read it not long after finishing Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, which I also enjoyed. Nightingale keeps coming up on my recommended reads, so I'll have to look at that one more closely. princessrunningfingers
I am reading "Unbroken" now, and it is one of the most moving books I have ever read, if not the most moving. I strongly recommend it.
lorac
I'm reading a Mary Higgins Clark book right now - "I've Got You Under My Skin" - it's a mystery and so far, so good. I'm not a huge fan of Clark's but this one might bring me around to her fan club. I love anything that's a mystery! Have you read any of her daughter Carol Higgins-Clark books? They are quite good. I'm reading book two in the Outlander series 'Dragonfly In Amber' and have watched all of the episodes of the series from the first book 'Outlander'. Excellent and some interesting additional scenes were added in. A must see. I hope they do more episodes from the second book.
