ladyscrapalot
When I do a search for something on my computer or EHD the search will show me items that match my search but it doesn't show me where it is located. I know I can just double click on the file and it will open up. Here is my example; I worked on a photoshop project. When I wanted to work on it again today it was't where I thought I had saved it. When I did a search on the computer I found it but I don't know where it was saved so when I close it today I don't know where to look for it the next time I want to work on it. Does anybody know how I can find a file is located when it comes up in a search? I sure hope I'm explaining this clearly. Thanks for any help! Nica
Hi Kelly! If you right click on the file, you should be able to choose "open file location." That will open the folder that contains your file rather than opening the file itself. HTH

Becster
Also, you could do a "save as" and it should show you where the file is, even if you just save it under the same name. :-)
MariJ
Also, you could do a "save as" and it should show you where the file is, even if you just save it under the same name. :-) I've done that too, Becky when I don't know where something is saved. I pretend I'm going to save it, then check where it will go and then "cancel".
Cath_
you can right click and show propertys on if you don' t want to end searching, and see where it is. or go to list view
jhbren
Hi, Kelly - just saw this. I use a Mac, so this may not apply to PC (although I'd expect something similar.) When I search for a file or LO, a list of files including the search word shows up. When I click on on, a line showing the path to the file appears below the list, so I can make a note of where I put it. Hope this helps!
BarbaraC1977
When you search, if you change the view from icons or list to DETAILS, it will show the path in addition to name.
