Question About Using A Product

Hi all! I am sooo out of sorts and practice on doing anything digital anymore, (I had a really hard time before, when I was doing it more) But I seen the templates, Floating Photos in the store and love them. I have always struggled with templates and I'm wondering if these are hard to use, or even how to use them. Here's a link if it works. http://store.scrapgirls.com/ScrapSimple-Embellishment-Templates-Floating-Photos.html

Something that seems so simple, has always given me trouble and I'm a visual learner, so it's hard to do something that I haven't seen being done, if that makes sense?

Any advice and help is very much appreciated!!

Thank you in advance!

I love these templates Di! I just clipped my photo to the mask layer and voila...it was done! I just left the rectangles (or circles) as they were. They are layered on top of the photo. I believe I used a background paper with a SS paper under the photo mask. Really, it was simple. It is hard to see by the product images sometimes "what" is involved.

Holler if you have a more specific question. I'm sure others will come along with their thoughts.

Thanks for the great info, Conda! I don't have these (yet), so it's good to know in advance how easy it will be to use them.

Di,

I do believe that I made a remark about how much I loved these and how difficult they look when they first came out. I can't swear to it, but I think Syndee said if I had any questions to just ask. It's worth a try, give it a shot and if you run into trouble just message her.

That is true for all of our designers, they are awesome and always willing to help!

I have these and like Conda said, you can pretty much just clip your photo to the mask. Some of the templates have layers labeled "Photo Spots." On those you can just copy your photo, move above the photo spot layer and clip your photo to it, super easy.

Here is one of the templates with my photo just clipped to the mask.

Same template with the photo copied and clipped to the 2 labeled photo spots.

Hope that helps.

Hi Di!

Melanie did a great job of showing how these work. You basically just clip your photos to the photo spots and to the photo mask. I have set the blend modes and drop shadows on the 'floating layers' so that you don't have to mess with them unless you want to :)

If you have any other questions let me know. I do have it on my 'to do' list to do a little video using these, but they really are pretty simple to use. The only real difference would be if you used the separate PNG files that come with the templates, those you would have to apply the blend modes and shadows yourself. That's why I LOVE and almost always use the layered PSD's of everything :)

I'm so dense I never really realized that. That's good to know.

Thanks, Syndee, Melanie's correct you designers are the best.
