grammy1
I have a lot of embellishments under "general" category. I want to organize them so all of the butterflies are together, the school items, fall items etc. PSE organizes them according to the artists' initials, which is not helpful to me. I can drag them together, but when I close PSE and reopen, the thumbnails go back to their original positions. How can I get them to stay organized the way I want them? Belle
Have you tagging them in PSE organiser? I use that a lot. You can do a metadata search as well to find all your butterflies etc. I also find that Picasa works well with searches.
A-M
Picasa is definitely my favourite way of finding what I want.
teecee
Ditto Anne-Marie! I LOVE Picasa and can't imagine trying to find things without it.
Florida granny
I use the PSE Organizer. I set up my own categories (creating tag words like "butterflies", "stars", etc) then, each time I buy a new collection I import it into the Organizer and tag the items. It only takes a few minutes but anytime I'm looking for a butterfly, for example, I click on the tag word in the Organizer and up comes all the butterflies from all the collections. Adobe has online help https://helpx.adobe.com/elements-organizer/topics.html for different versions of PSE. Good luck!
mimes1
I use picasa and let it do all the hard work of finding everything, without sorting or tagging. It uses key words to search your stuff. Think your own personal Google on your desktop!

Think your own personal Google on your desktop! I agree with Amy (mimes1), 100%! Forever ago I used to try to keep track of things with PSE Organizer and found it to be very tedious - tagging and all. With Picasa there's no need to tag anything. I love it! Smiles
As long as you have Picasa installed, it should continue to work. There's another thread that talks about Picasa.

Lesann
So I downloaded Picasa, and it wonderful, though somehow It started downloading before I could set up everything and Inhave a lot of dupes. Google photos isn' t nearly as good, but it too, downloaded images I don't want. There are few very controls on GP.
