One of my favorite modes of travel/transportation is by riverboat. This boat trip was one of my favorites.

Happy Monday everyone. :) Ready for another week of gratitude?

We all face challenges. Some are small and some are rather large. But every challenge makes us stronger. Start a layout about a challenge you faced and why you are thankful for the experience.

Hmmm, I also have to wonder what yours will be, Marilyn.... :) But, you know you are surrounded by some good, supportive friends!

I wonder if I can catch up? I'm in desperate need of some stress therapy, and no better way than to scrap photos of some blessings!

I'll get started . . .

I'm right there with you Laura!

Maybe consider doing smaller layouts? You could even do an ATC sized layout for each challenge. Just a thought....... :D

I too, have had a couple of huge challenges this year, one still going on. However, I am seriously thinking about scrapping something more in the way of a minor challenge, relatively speaking.

I was thinking along those same lines!!

You all are so kind to be thinking of me... And, to be honest, I'm finding scrapping a challenge to be a challenge.... but I did actually start with an ATC size before I read this.... :)

And, I'm just back from a new dr/surgeon visit and a HUGE needle in my shoulder, which was a surprise..... was that a challenge?

Time for a nap ZZzzzzzzz........

And I like that idea of scrapping a minor challenge, I should have read this thread before starting......

awwww.... you make me smile... the lidocaine in the shot yesterday made the pain temporarily better, so "proved" it's the shoulder causing the trouble (SERIOUSLY??????)... He then added that he'd also injected cortisone which should kick in in a week and if that helps, we're good... If not, then we go in arthroscopically to check and clean it out. Since I've already had cortisone shots, I'm not too optimistic, but we'll see......

So nice to have such kind, caring SG friends. :):thanks::bighug:

Here's my layout -

Challenge

Having my car hit in January has been challenging in many different ways both physically and mentally. Having 2 friends face devastating ones, though has put mine in perspective. While I can’t actually be thankful for the experience, one thing to come out of it is what started as a physical therapy “concussion walk” to help my head heal. Amazingly, while I began with struggling to walk half a block - I’ve progressed to often 5000+ step walks. More surprising is that I’ve kept up with it. Walking continues to be helpful as I deal with life’s challenges and healing so I made my layout about challenges and perspective.

My life has challenges but there are so many out there with huge challenges so I took a different approach. Rather than tell of mine I inspire to "meet them head on." My inspiration came from two women who faced huge challenges in an amazing way. My Mom and my friend MJ. Here is my Challenge page.

Nov. 18th

I did my challenge page about the move I made to a new complex earlier this year. I was still trying to get adjusted to the loss of my DH of 61 years when things began to go downhill where I lived. There were just a lot of problems that were making me unhappy. I talked myself out of moving several times, but finally decided in January of this year to move. I made the move in March, and it was a big challenge because I was moving away from friends and neighbors I knew to a place where I would have all new neighbors and would have to make new friends. As a shy person this was not easy for me. I have lived here for 8 months now, and have never regretted it. I have made a lot of new friends, and am much happier in a place that suits me much better. This experience has been good for me and as a side note, I was just elected last week to be the new president of the resident council. Go figure.

My Challenge

This was a very challenging year....I had both my knees replaced within 8 months. I should have had this done years ago but kept putting it off until I began to hear rumors that my Dr was thinking of Retirement.....He is THE BEST and so I bit the bullet and scheduled the first one. I was really nervous....had no idea what to expect...what rehab would be like, how long the recovery would be....It was not bad at all. They have a Joint Replacement Center at the Hospital and are so organized. I did so well, at my first appointment with the Dr a week later I told him to put me on his calendar for #2.....I did the second one 8 months later.

It was so much easier since I new the drill, so to speak....Piece of Cake LOL In and out and on the road to recovery in record time. It has now been 6 months since the second surgery and seems like it as been years....Both knees are PERFECT in every way, Flexible, Pain Free and not even a twinge ever.

I was very fortunate to get the Physical Therapist I did....he was amazing and he deserves a lot of the credit for my success. He made it enjoyable and yet was so challenging.
