I did my challenge page about the move I made to a new complex earlier this year. I was still trying to get adjusted to the loss of my DH of 61 years when things began to go downhill where I lived. There were just a lot of problems that were making me unhappy. I talked myself out of moving several times, but finally decided in January of this year to move. I made the move in March, and it was a big challenge because I was moving away from friends and neighbors I knew to a place where I would have all new neighbors and would have to make new friends. As a shy person this was not easy for me. I have lived here for 8 months now, and have never regretted it. I have made a lot of new friends, and am much happier in a place that suits me much better. This experience has been good for me and as a side note, I was just elected last week to be the new president of the resident council. Go figure.

Where The Heart Is

You have dealt with so much this year.....you should be very proud of yourself!! President, Way to go!!! Just proves we are never at a stage in our life that we are too old to grow.

Oh dear - I feel like my challenge is trivial compared with what all you brave gals are writing about.

We use our touring caravan maybe once or twice a year for holidays. There is so much to remember to do to prepare it for towing safely, driving it to our destination and then installing it in our new destination. For a number of reasons I take on the lion share of this work including all the driving (on the UK's crowded and narrow roads this is no joke!). As I get older I worry about this more and more but I know that if I lose confidence and stop, our travelling days would be severely restricted. So at the moment my motto is - feel the fear and do it anyway!

Oh but you are so accomplished...I think I would rather do new knees than what you take responsibility for LOL...at least now that I know what that involves.

Today, I'm most grateful that my computer didn't crash. It went haywire for about 2 hours and wouldn't restart. But, I unplugged the internet and it started right up again. Phew!

Week 1 - Layout 2 -- Nature

*Today's blessing -- picked some of the ripe lemons and made real lemonade. What a treat!

Week 2 - Layout 1 -- Technology

*Technology's biggest impact on me has to be that I can keep in touch at any time w/ friends and family (like this website)!

Here's my layout -

Oriental Medicine

For the past two years, one of the things I do to stay physically and mentally fit is bi-weekly visits for acupuncture and other forms of Oriental Medicine. Since my body reacts sensitively to traditional drugs and therapies, Oriental Medicine has been gentle and wonderful for me. It is even helping me through car accident healing and pain and I am lucky to have found such a wonderful Doctor.

No surprise to most of you...a beach photo!!! Here is my favorite way to stay fit Mind and Body

Walking on the beach is my favorite thing but fall, winter and spring it is walks around the neighborhood or hikes in the woods. I do try to walk every day. I wake up every morning trying to be positive and happy with what I have in life. Family, friends and health

I made my layout to show some of the things I do to try and keep my mind and body healthy. Weather permitting I like to walk outside; when it doesn't I retreat to the exercise room and use the step machine. I join a few of my neighbors several times a week for WII bowling, which isn't a lot of exercise, but I'm moving. I follow a Weight Watchers diet. I play bingo 3 times a week and volunteer as a helper going to each winner and reading out the numbers; this helps by speeding things up considerably. I play Words with Friends with four different people. I read a couple of books each week, checking out e-books from the library. And finally, I have just started playing Mexican Train dominoes with a group here.

Keeping Fit Spiritually

I always have a hard time keeping control of my thoughts when I am praying or reading the bible or a cool Inspirational book....I read a book this past summer by a really fun author who said she suffers from PADD -Prayer Attention Deficit Disorder....and I said THAT is me LOL I will be praying or thinking profound thoughts and all of a sudden I realize I have planned my supper menu. I just know God is thinking "Oh boy here she comes I have to really concentrate on this one"...... I think that, at least at times, doing this fun creative artsy Journaling will help me concentrate on what I found inspirational.....and can use all my supplies I already have...I did get a new bible just for Journaling with a wide margin to create in. We shall see ....I LOVE the concept tho and there is so much you can do....I think it would be great for kids to do this to help them memorize Bible Verses. Do a search on Pinterest for Bible Journaling and there is so much inspiration on there...I will do a lot of copying I know but the finished product will be my creation and hopefully my brain will retain the inspiration from what I have done.

As a very early riser (a habit I seem unable to shake) I relish my early morning coffee with my I-pad and whatever book I'm reading. I spend an hour or more sipping my coffee and reading. Sometimes it extends to a second cup, before I get going and start my day.

This is another special moment spent with my Dad. It was lovely to see him in good form on this day and happy to pose for DS while he took this photo.

I achieved the b&w effect of the photo by turning the blending mode to luminosity

So nice you have this photo/////love the LO Too
