Rubber Stamped Images Into Png's Or Brushes?

Okay, I'm on a serious "simplify" mission and am thinking I want to go ahead & sell (or donate) lots of my paper scrapping supplies (and free up some big-time space) including rubber stamps & paper punches. However, even though I've not used any of it for well over a year (I know it's been at least that long because I haven't touched any of it since we started preparing for our relocation last JUNE, 2014, for sure. Haha!) That being said, the thought of possibly wanting to use one six months from now & not having it, doesn't quite make me hyperventilate like the same thought would have a couple years ago, but it does kind of make me uneasy. I'm sure it would be a lot of work but I'm wondering if anyone knows if (and HOW) I can turn a rubber stamped image on paper into a PNG or a brush? I have a scanner/printer combo (and a Flip-pal mobile scanner that I'll be opening Christmas morning) and I only have Photoshop Elements (13) so I would really appreciate any help or if someone could direct me to a tutorial on how to do it. I'm really hoping that 1) it can be done and 2) I learn something new (meaning I don't go "Oops, guess I knew that at one time but totally forgot." LOL!) Either way though, I'll be ecstatic if I can keep my stamps digitally.

Thanks for any & all help!

Hi Cathy,

You may want to check with the individual stamp companies first. Many stamp companies do not allow their images to be mechanically or electronically reproduced for any reason. Many stamp companies have Angel Policies where you could find the information or contact the company directly. HTH

Oh, bummer...I don't even have the packaging for many of them anymore so I couldn't even look it up or contact them. I have tons of Close To My Heart & Stampin' Up though & I'm sure you're probably right on those, at least. Oh well...I guess there's no way around it...I'm either going to let them go & enjoy the de-cluttered space or...not. (Yet, that is.) But, if digitizing them isn't really an option, it'll at least help me look at them with a more critical eye & maybe I can at least part with some. Eh, it's a start! Haha!

Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to take a pic of my favorites to use as inspiration since I can always make something similar using Photoshop Elements which, I think, is a happy compromise between keeping them & clearing out unused things. Many of them, I still like but have never used...and I'm talking years. And years. I'm actually liking the idea of just using them as inspiration now AND having a nice, neat space to work in. :)

Sounds like a great idea Cathy! I understand your dilemma. I still have bunches and bunches of stamps from years ago that I know may never be used again and I should probably get rid of but I just can't part with them. I know they take up quite a bit of space in my craft room, but then again, isn't that what craft rooms are for? LOL. :)
