December Atc Challenge & Swap

Did you know that the first Christmas postage stamp made its debut in 1962? It was first issued by the U.S. Post Office Department in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 1, 1962 after customers had requested such a stamp for years. (Original stamp in thumbnail below - can you believe postage was only 4 cents then?) Each year since, the Postal Service issues a Holiday Contemporary and Holiday Traditional postage stamp. This year, the Holiday Contemporary is the Santa and Sleigh Forever stamp, which features a “classic” image of Santa and his reindeer circling around snow-covered rooftops, and the Holiday Traditional Stamp is the Holy Family Forever stamp. The Holy Family stamp celebrates Christmas with a scene from the Nativity story that reminds us of the joys of the season: family, togetherness, and the birth of Jesus. There is a more in depth article on the history of the Christmas postage stamp here, if you are interested in reading further.

I would like to "commission" all of our wonderful ScrapGirl artists to try their hand at creating their own holiday stamp "ATC style". You can create a contemporary, traditional or both! You may create as many cards as you would like, just please remember to sign and date each card. Upload them to the Artist Trading Cards - Digital & Hybrid Gallery and email the full resolution copy (750 x 1050 pixels at 300 ppi) to me at: scrapgirl.bride@gmail.com

Some suggested collections include:

SS Embellishment Lifted Postage
Shapes Pack Frames
Theme>Holiday>Christmas

The cards are due to me by Wednesday, December 30th. I will get those back to you by the last day of December. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

How fun! You ladies are on the ball! I will have to take a lookey see at what you did. Then to put the ol' thinking cap on. Hhhhmmmm maybe I should put on a stocking cap to get in the right frame of mind. :snow_laugh:

Ha Ha! I like that ... put on your stocking cap!! I think you may need to incorporate a stocking cap into your stamp!! :D
