February Challenge Chase

Just to make sure I'm doing this correctly. The Challenge Chase ONLY has to be put in the gallery, no hashtag? We CAN post to social media just because we love our layouts :)

The #challenge NEEDS to be posted to the gallery and MAY be post to social media. #whatever the month is must be on social media, but not necessary in the gallery?

HOW do I post a link to my gallery posting in post as you all have done?

Do I have it?

Hugs

And thanks April and Teecee for the help with my blinkie and sig.

Yes, you have it!

Here is a tutorial for posting the links: How To Post Links In The Forum

So for next month. The #challenges needs to be posted in the gallery? I thought we were to posted some where on social media if possible.

The requirements for the hashtag challenge aren't changing. You are not required to be posted in the gallery, but you are welcome to.

I was re-reading this a few minutes ago, and realized I mis-read parts of Leslie's original post, sorry for any confusion!

  • We don't require you to post the #challenge in the gallery, but the gallery is one of the places you may post it for credit.
  • You DO need to add the hashtag to the # challenge, no matter where you post it.
  • When posting on social media, be sure the visibility settings are public or we won't be able to find them! For instance, if your facebook settings are for "friends only" I won't be able to find your image in a hashtag search. If Theresa is your friend, she will see it, but I won't. :)

Oh boy I hope I did this right. I have never hastaged anything before. I posted my page Grand Canyon

I hashtagged #grandcanyondigipage on FB....now what??? Or was I supposed to do something different.

Debby, the hashtag for February is supposed to be #sgdigilove. We all use the same ones so we can see everyone's with the same search. Also, make sure you make the post public otherwise it can't be found by those of us that aren't friends yet.

April mentioned to me earlier that the search engines won't pick the change. So when I changed it to public from friends only Google still didn't pick it up.

It isn't just google, facebook isn't bringing it up when I search either.

Also, remember that a single layout can only get Challenge Chase credit once, so if you post a layout for the Newsletter Challenge and link it here for this week's challenge credit, you can't use the same page for the #hashtag challenge.

OK. I did my layout for the hashtag challenge, and posted it in the newsletter challenge gallery because I really didn't know where to put it and it fit that challenge just as well as the one I did for the challenge. I hope that works ok. I will try to post on facebook as well, but I don't usually post so I've never done it before. I normally just use it to get photos of my great-grandkids.

#sgdigilove

I just tried to post this on facebook, and I think it worked.

I posted mine to FB also but hadn't made the album public. I have done that now so hopefully you can see it.

Posted my #hashtag challenge to FB.

Not that I'm official or anything, but for those of you wondering if you posted correctly, I can find Sondra's, Valerie's, Joyce's, Nicole's, and Leslie Ann's via Facebook. I can also see Lesann's, Joyce's, Skymom's, Rosemarythyme's, and Judy in SD's via google (in the gallery).

If I didn't list your name, double check that the actual image is made public (not just the album...not sure if there's a difference, but worth a try) and double check that your hashtag is spelled correctly.

Wow this is the most confusing challenge ever!!! Or maybe it is my old lady mush brain.. I guess I missed where it said the hastag had to be #sgdigilove. I will give it another try.

Ok I made a new page and posted it on FB with a # . I can see it on FB at the SG site so I did that part right I think...now do I need to post on the Gallery? I feel so stupid on this challenge.

I'm seeing it on facebook, so you did it correctly. :)

We introduced two new things at once, so I'm thinking that is why it is confusing.

Thanks for playing along!

Ladies, I've overcommitted this month.... When I started the Slow Scrap for Feb, I assumed that I could use that for the Challenge Chase. So, I'm sorry I'm going to have to bail out of this one. :sorry:

Eden, April will correct if I'm wrong, but I think you can use it for both? It's only that you can't use the same layout for Hashtag AND a Challenge Chase point.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that Eden is right. Here's the part of the post I read:

To qualify, you have to participate in at least one challenge every week for the month.

Each week, you may choose to participate in either the Weekly Newsletter Challenge (posted on Tuesdays) or the Weekend Wildcard Challenge (posted on Saturdays). It doesn’t matter if you pick the Weekly or Weekend Challenge (or switch back and forth) as long as you post at least one challenge layout in each calendar week of the month. Partial weeks of less than three days don’t count as a full week.

Ohhhhh... So, the Weekly Challenges only count, not the Monthly ones? I assumed it was any Challenge, but it looks like Monica is right. Sorry about that. April will give us the final answer. Sounds like a game show. ;)

No worries Ladies, I will enjoy seeing what you are doing as well as being in the Slow Scrap, myself. There fun for everyone at the moment.

In a post in the forum game thread Valerie explained it:

Because we have prizes for the monthly games, you can't use these layouts for the challenge chase.

HTH :)

Here is my layout for the weekend wildcard challenge: Teenager

I have a LO finished for the hashtag challenge, and I'll post it in the gallery, but I *think* I'm going to try to post it to Instagram just to see if I can do it, lol! I'm not on FB, so I can't help with that.

EDIT:

Got the hashtag LO posted to the gallery: Buddy

And Instagram :)

I think you have to #scrapgirls (?)

It was my understanding that members use #sgdigilove - team members use #sgdigilove and #ScrapGirls, but I may have misunderstood Debbie's email.
