Kathy
I purchase Marlene Peacocks template set SSDLAT Scrap It Monthly. followed instructions to use only the right side of 12 X24 template. I have dropped photos into place and grouped with template. The photo placement spot is numbered and the number doesn't is on top of the photo after grouping. What am I doing wrong? MariJ
Hi Kathy Welcome to ScrapGirls. I don''t have those templates, but I took a look at them in the Boutique. If I'm seeing the ones you purchased, it looks to me like once you drop the photo in and clip it to the template, the numbers will not show up on your page. I'm thinking that the numbers are there to make it easier when you are filling the slots, but not to be seen on your layout. Maybe if you'd like to number the photos on your page you could use your text tool and write out the photo number. I hope I'm answering your question, please let us know if you need more help and hopefully someone will come along that has used this template. alsoarty
Hi there...if you want the numbers to show just put them on a layer above the photo. Hope this helps.
Kathy
I don't want the numbers to show. They actually say "photo 9" or whatever number right on top of the photo after I have clipped it to the template. Everything else (the extra photo no longer shows after clipping but the "photo 9" remains on top. The templates I have used in the past don't have numbers showing on the templates and have worked well for me. It was my assumption that the numbers would be under the photo with the template once I had clipped the photo to it. There is no separate layer with the photo number similar to a title or journaling sample.
teecee
Hmm, have you tried with the PSD files and also the PNG files and are you sure you aren't using a Preview image to try to clip to? I'll send Marlene a message to let her know of your problem.
scrapgran
Use the PSD file with layers. If you don't want the numbers to show, hit the eye at the side to turn the layer off.
mbc72
Hi Kathy, When I open that template as a .psd file the very top layer is named "Placement Guide- delete layer." This is the layer with all of the photo placement numbers on it. You can either delte it , or as Laraine said, turn the layer off. I used Scrap It Monthly Series 1. I don't own that product, so I didn't know of the "Placement Guide" layer. Great to know!
Figment
Kathy, So glad you purchased my template set, but sorry to hear you are having trouble. As Laraine and Melanie have stated, you can either turn the layer off in the layers palette by clicking on the eye, or delete the layer. When you first open the .psd file, it will be the one on the very top of the layers palette. We are assuming you are using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. If not, each layer is a separate .PNG file. You can choose to not import that file, usually named "Guide", or delete it after it has served it's purpose. You can PM me if you are still having trouble. Hope that helps! Kathy
Thank you! When I separated the 12X24 and used only the right side, the layers from the left page were still showing in the layers panel. The layers I was using were all at the bottom of the panel; I never looked way up beyond the left side layers. I have never used a template with a placement guide layer before (or heard of one for that matter). Anyway, thanks to all for the help. I was soooo frustrated. I feel much better now,
MariJ
So happy it worked out for you Kathy. We all know frustration and it's wonderful when it gets fixed.
